Western Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Discussion Thread

Joseph just isn't strong offensively.. Though he's a defensive stud, he wore Chris Paul out quick in game 1

I still think the combo of parker ginobli and green not playing well is the biggest reason for why the spurs arent in command in this series. I think if im the spurs, if we lose, we take pride in the fact that 2 major contributors, and one of our better role players hasnt exactly played well consistently and we still went 7. I dont think the spurs as a team are struggling(tho there defense hasnt been quite as good imo) so much as it been the guys who make the biggest impact on this team(barring timmy and kawhi who looks like the clips d is starting to affect a little bit) havent been doing well.

I personally think he's better off the dribble than Mills. Mills is definitely a better shooter no question.

My point is, at this point TP is just as much of a liability as anyone else out there right now. I don't see the harm of running Joseph at Paul for 14-15 minutes a night to get Tony some extra rest in the middle of the game. He obviously isn't 100% right now and any extra time off the floor could do wonders when it comes to being in in crunch time.

Game 7 and Pacquiao Mayweather ? Sounds good.

I'am usually a supporter of the Spurs but I've seen them enough in the playoffs theses last few years so I'am hoping the clippers can take care of buisiness. I want Pac to win too.

So I'am guessing Spurs win and Pac gets knocked down.

Spurs are 1 and 3 on game 7 on the road.

Well this series hasn't gone as I envisioned, and has actually been the best 1st round series this year.

I didn't expect Tony to be a shell of himself most nights nor Cp3, Blake & Jordan to all play well. I ain't pulling no brad though still got the Spurs winning.

Parker has looked either below average or terrible all season and this series is putting that fact out front and center. Sad to see a once great player completely deteriorating before our eyes. I thought that maybe his decline was based on injury, but I'm starting to side with the mindset that he's lost a gear (or even two) and isn't the same speed demon.

Unlike Manu and Timmy, he doesn't have a ton of "savviness" or craftiness in his game to fall back on. Hoping I'm wrong and he somehow brings something palatable to the table tonight. He also has the misfortune of playing the toughest, deepest and best position in the NBA when he doesn't have enough to compete with the elite.

Not sure that I'm going to catch the game, unfortunately.

And people seem to forget that Splitter has been practically invisible throughout most of this series too. Can't fully blame him because I think he isn't 100%, but having to rely mostly on Duncan and Diaw plays right into the Clippers hands, IMO.

Big on this. Have Joseph hound Paul for a bit to wear him out some. He's already carrying a huge load for them. 10 or so minutes of being hounded by a fresh body can make a difference in how he'll close the game if it's close.

Still think the Spurs close this out and will do better moving forward than the Clippers could have.

Clippers are just strong in areas where San Antonio is weaker and create mismatches, said that before the series started.. Spurs are a much better overall team.

I'm so used to you guys playing possum and getting it back on track at the right time. Its definitely tough watching him play, you guys are much better when his ability to get into the paint and kick out or score is on full display.

Hopefully khawi has a huge game tonight or Mills/Joseph and the bench is enough to offset Parker and get the Clips out of here.

Yup it's that youth &athleticism lol

As well as none of their key guys as banged up as the Spurs. Give you credit man you had a lot more faith in these Clips then I ever would.

Parkers literally had a lower body injury every playoff run since 2011, not to mention his annual ankle injury during every regular season....I figured it'd eventually catch up to him...

All that said, whenever I start giving Parker eulogies he goes and drops 35...so let's see what happens tonight, lol

You ditched me as one of the few who pull for LeBron so for that I'm rooting Clippers in 7.

Tonight could be the last night Timmy or (more likely) Manu play a game. Go Spurs go! Can't go out in the first round!
