2015 Offseason Thread
Yup.
Jordan was no Olajuwon down there. But he was killing em with that jump hook when given the opportunity.
7 foot. Strong. Jumps higher than anyone in the building. Thats all he needs. LolLast edited by TMagic; 06-30-2015, 07:49 PM.Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Just out of curiosity, what makes you think that? Not that I'm agreeing or disagreeing.
He's young. He's more athletic than basically every other center. He's got great length.
I dont think its a stretch to see him more involved offensively. I remember back last year 2013-14, it seemed like they were making an effort to get him post touches in the beginning of the season. The Clipps commentators brought up how much better he looked in the post. And back then, I remember agreeing. He looked good.
But as the year went on, they just settled back on PnR with CP3 and posting up Blake. And that was the end of that. Lol
For the money he's asking for and is going to get,I'd rather sell him on what he's been known to do well, and is good at..and not shake things up too much.Comment

Not sure how I feel about it, but more smoke:
@KBergCBS: Free-agent matchmaking to keep an eye on, sources say: Tyson Chandler and the Bucks. Agent Jeff Schwartz also reps coach Jason Kidd.

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Yea. I dont think he should be an "offensive focal point" either.
But I wouldn't mind seeing some sets run for him throughout the game. Especially when he has a weak defender on him.
Nothing drastic.Comment

Looking to see what bum Cho brings in trying to trade of Zeller. Then the new GM next season will trade Frank. That Justise Winslow non pick still gets me heated (pun intended). The Buzz is Back in the Queen City. Cho........I have no idea what you are going to do in this draft man.Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
If he's going to average 18 on 10 shots, it should be ALL on alley oops and put backs, like he's been doing for most of his career.
No need for him to be trying to face guys up and/or take them off the dribble, especially if he's going to be playing in Dallas or back in LA again.
Offensively, he's not going to get that much better than he already is.
Definitely not in LAC, they have no reason to use him that way because they have Blake. That's why they haven't already used him that way.
But Dallas has zero post scoring. I don't see a reason to not give him a few touches inside and let him make a drop step, or a quick one dribble face up from 5 feet out. Poor man's Dwight.
His offensive game doesn't have to get any better. Nobody can defend him under the rim unless they foul. A couple post ups a game mixed with his oops and put backs is ideal IMO.

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Tyson Chandler has zero post game mixed with limited athleticism. Deandre could keep it simple, drop step dunk, turn and face dunk, drop step baby hook.
Literally what Dwight Howard was effective at doing before his back surgery. Definitely doesn't need to be a focal point like Dwight was, but a couple touches a game why not? That stretch Blake was out he was getting some touches, and shooting over 10 frees throws a game because that's the only way to keep him from the rim. Obviously a terrible free throw shooter but it's free points and stop momentum the other team might have. It's a run killer.

Where are these Dwight comparisons coming from? Hell, he JUST now started showing slight improvement in his offensive game and he's been working with Hakeem for how long now?
Like you said, nobody can defend him under the ring unless they foul and that's because he's getting his baskets created for him(with the exception of the hook shot he's "mastered")and he's thrived perfectly and pretty much made a career in that role, yet you want him to add some post moves to his game why exactly? Especially when at most, he won't be getting more than 12-13 touches a game anyway.
And T-Magic, I say that because I don't think DJ is a quick thinker with the ball in his hands(which you need to be if you want an effective post game).#RespectTheCultureComment
