Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
I hope Aldridge waits til like August to sign with a team. Not like teams are going to move on from him and it's not like he won't be able to get an offer then.
And to continue seeing folks get upset over it as well that he hasn't picked a team yet.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Paul wanted to go to LA, and chose Lakers but then trade was vetoed,so he settled for Clippers, but either way,he still ended up going to LA cause that's what he wanted.
Dwight wanted out of Orlando too though. It wasn't his first choice, but he ended up going to LA either way. Had things worked out, surely he would've stayed there.
He's only been there for 3 years. 22 years old and he gets biggest contract in the league...of course anyone would stay under those conditions. He would've been RFA for a number of years to come anyways. The real test will come in around 3-4 years from now. Lebron was in Cleveland for 7 years before going to Miami. Carmelo was in his 8th season when traded. Howard left Orlando after 8 seasons. Paul left New Orleans after 6 years.
I mean how long are these dudes supposed to stay in these situations if they see they can't win a title though? CP3 was never gonna win anything in NO same with Melo in Denver. Dwight had pretty much done all he could do in Orlando with that squad too and we all know about LeBron carrying those Cleveland teams. I don't think it's market thing for most superstars as much as they want to win at some point.

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
For KG,that's more understandable since he left cause he wanted to win. Wolves were going downhill during his final 3 years(around a 30 win team). No point staying with them at that point.
Same reason I didn't mention VC leaving Raptors. Raptors were in horrible shape then, and management forced him out. Some Raptor fans still might paint VC as a villain, but I say it's 99% managements fault,1% VCs fault. Bosh left cause of Lebron/Wade. McGrady left cause he was immature then(he basically admitted it after he retired, thats a decision he regrets) and Raptors got ripped off cause I don't believe RFA rules were the same then?
That's why I mentioned one like Lebron leaving 60+ win Cavs, Paul leaving 45+ win Hornets team to join struggling Clippers, Howard leaving 50+ win Magic team, and so on. Star players, leaving playoff teams, to go to bigger markets. Not very often it happens the other way around.
C'mon, you can't say someone like KG left because he wanted to win and then say it wasn't the same for LeBron. Was Miami even considered a big market team?
The dude left because management was absolute garbage. Paying 38 year old Shaq more than the best player in the league, paying 35 year old Ben Wallace more than the best player in the league, landing Jamison as the so called "side kick" to finally put them over the top, etc. knowing damn well that even if they made it to the finals that those guys would have ZERO effectiveness against a peak Pau Gasol, or Tim Duncan.
He left to win. If winning wasn't his mission he would have stayed at "home", where he is already back to now that he's won.

Maybe Monroe and his agent felt going into the meeting or were led to believe that the Knicks were prepared to add more players during FA to become more competitive?Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Apparently in the first pitch, Kobe tried to convince Aldridge how good Kupchak was at building rosters by:

Then cursing out his teammates this year on camera for not being able to do anything for him?

And you actually believe that Lebron didn't any say at all in bringing them in while he was there?
And it's real easy now to knock those moves seeing how they turned out, but at the time, what were better, realistic options they could've gotten easily?
I don't necessarily disagree but you make it seem like it was so easy to avoid those particular moves, knowing what we did at the time.#RespectTheCultureComment
