Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Pack talking like Jones been in the league 8 years already lmao. 3 years in man and we've barely seen him with any significant minutes. He could very well be a really good player at this point.

He has/had talent as that was never the question with him, it was his knees that were the issue.#RespectTheCultureComment

Unless you got a list of players selected that late that have improved THAT much from Year 1 to Year 4 while dealing with the same chronic injury issues that have seemed to follow him, I feel very confident in being right in that he won't be much better than what he is.
Hell, I feel the same about Thomas Robinson and he's in the same position as Jones is but he's only in his 2 year AND was a top 5 pick.
Funny thing is I used to be the one defending him the most on here while he was in OKC. Ya'll know I'm one admit when I'm wrong when it comes to making projections on players.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 07-14-2015, 05:06 PM.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Im not calling him an all star or James Harden, but to barely give the guy playing time over his tenture there is wack and the way the coach went about his business is a big reason why.
The guy is solid, he's not a scrub, and at least warrants not heating up someones bench his entire career.Comment

Agree with the last part, although I don't remember calling him a scrub or treating him like one.
Just hope the health issues are behind him for good.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Idk man.. Perry can definitely be a solid player with a bigger role but I don't expect all that much from him honestly.
We can say being buried on the bench was an issue, but you can't ignore why he was there. If he was as good as people are claiming he would have gotten more minutes. I think it's a bit much to expect him to be much more than a solid role player. Good for him that he'll finally get that expanded role though.

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Per ProBasketballTalk
Two years ago, John Wall signed a five-year, $80 million extension with the Wizards. It was the max he could sign for, and as the Wizards’ franchise player and one of the league’s best point guards, he was absolutely deserving of that deal. Since then, though, the league’s new TV deal and the influx of money have led to a lot more contracts that size. Wall’s a little annoyed at what now looks like a deal that’s below market value.
From CSNWashington.com’s J. Michael:
“People talk about me getting $80 million, now you got people getting $85 million that haven’t made the All-Star (Game) or anything like that,” Wall said Tuesday while watching his summer league team compete vs. the Dallas Mavericks at Thomas & Mack Center. “I guess they came in at the right time. That new CBA kicked in and they’re good now. Reggie Jackson gets five years, $80 million. I’m getting the same as Reggie Jackson.”
Wall has a point, and this has long been a gripe that the NBA’s top players have had with the concept of the maximum salary. The league’s superstars are artificially capped in the amount of money they can earn, while lesser players’ values get inflated because of the market. Surely this will be a topic of discussion in the CBA negotiations in 2017.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
More about the star players getting a larger piece of the pie which only makes role players more expendable.
If role players make less money, teams have more incentive to release them.
I think because there are more role players than major stars, they should be working together to keep their jobs.
Yes, stars are probably the reason these guys can even make millions but the league is the league and if I was a role player, I'm asking LeBron and Chris Paul what their money has to do with mine. I need mine more than they need theirs.
