    Re: 2015 Offseason Thread

With contract talks at an impasse for a month, the agent for restricted free-agent forward Tristan Thompson warned the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday that if his client is forced into accepting a one-year contract, the upcoming season will be his last season with the team.

"If [Thompson] is on the qualifying offer, [this] will be his last year with the Cavs," agent Rich Paul told several media outlets, including ESPN.

Greg Monroe is a lot better than Thompson.

Never argued who was the better player and that wasn't the intent either...not going down that rabbit hole. And I am not arguing who deserves MAX money or whatever because any sensibility regarding that was thrown out the window this offseason the way teams handed out huge contracts to role/niche-type players.

The point that I was making is that if Monroe was able to get Milwaukee to overpay for his services (which they did), TT should be able to get a team to overpay the same way next offseason IF he becomes a UFA, based on the market this offseason and the explosion of money teams will have available next offseason.

Based on the lack of big-name PFs on the free agent market, TT could/will be one of the most sought-after unrestricted PFs next offseason...it's not that unrealistic to expect the same fortune for TT in 2016.

Good move for both parties, IMO. Adidas now has an elite wing player, along with an up and coming star in Wiggins, to market their products and Harden becomes a bigger presence with his own signature shoe. Now, it is up to adidas to market and put quality products (aesthetically and performance wise) in place.

Rose is the only question mark, but if healthy (very big if) and playing at an All-star level, they finally have three marketable guys to push their brand. And they all three need quality signature shoes.

Wiggins has the potential to be the next great wing player for the next 10 - 15 years. Plus, they have Lillard and Wall as quality endorsers too. Just need to create more gems (asthetically) like the Crazy Boost 2015.

Adidas isn't Nike and that's the problem especially when you look at who Nike has compared to them.

Knew Nike wasn't going to match that. Too many people ahead of him and too many good up and comers with the Swoosh to justify giving that kind of cash to Harden especially after just giving all that cash to KD and you gotta imagine Bron is going to be coming up sooner or later.
