Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
The Morris twins trying to complain their way out of basketball in 4 years, I see.

So are the Cavs ever going to sign Tristan Thompson or what's going on there? Dude is still unsigned right now.Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
If I read right there's 1 team that could give him the max....so at this point they're probably going back and forth...
I wonder if he'll end up taking the qualifying offer...

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Everyone's favorite whipping boy Windhorst has an article up on ESPN about him right now. It's risky, but there is a chance for a high reward if he does take that qualifying offer. With the new cap, the market that's been set, and the players available next summer, he could actually get somewhere in the neighborhood of 14-16m per year.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
If the Cavs don't/won't lock him up this summer and he ends up taking the QO, a bunch of teams will be knocking at his door next offseason offering him the max. I'm sure his hometown Raptors wouldn't hesitate for a second offering him the max to come back home...he'd be a perfect fit for them.
It may also be in his best interest to take the QO and play the field next offseason and look at where his game fits the best...does he really want to be a bench/role player for the next few seasons if he stays in Cleveland?XBL & PSN: zasbury25Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Well, guess we got the answer on that one
After months of negations and a training camp holdout, power forward Tristan Thompson and the Cleveland Cavaliers have finally agreed to terms on a new contract.
Thompson's agent "Rich Paul tells Sportsnet Tristan Thompson will sign [1-year] qualifying offer with Cavs and be a free agent in 2016," tweeted Sportsnet's Michael Grange. He would later delete the tweet and clarify: "Thompson negotiations are on-going BUT -- if he has to settle for QO offer, he will not return to Cavs in 16-17."
"All I know is TT on Qualifying Offer will be his last year with the Cavs," noted Paul, per Grange.
However, Chris Haynes of Northeast Ohio Media Group tweeted "Thompson signing QO w/ Cavs hasn't been decided yet, I'm told. But if he signs it, told it would be last season he plays as a Cav."
Haynes reported on contract talks on July 6, saying negotiations were "active and ongoing." However, Haynes spoke to a source who said, "There's a lot of talking, but no one is saying anything.Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Hopefully the Cavs hold their ground, Tristan is a great player at what he does, but its not worth a near max deal, plus Id almost rather have him take the QO, would be big for our luxury tax. With Mozgov a UFA next season, I can see the Cavs making him the priority over TT.Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Don't be naive to think teams won't be willing to give him one especially with teams having an influx of money next year and that players aren't afraid to turn down that extra $30 Mil.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
It'll be interesting to see what kind of deal he actually gets. The fact that every team is going to have max space should help a ton, but he's nowhere near the player Monroe is at his current stage in his development.
