That's my point lol. I don't think they're going to. Our defense was already gathering our spots at the fishing hole or something cause it was pretty non-existent outside of Jimmy on LeBron.

It's still played on the court. We just don't think the Hawks are "real" using a different word. And they are where they are because the East isn't good. Agree to disagree. I'm rooting for them, but don't see them beating Cleveland or any team that comes out of the West whether it's LAC/HOU or the Warriors.

Then isn't it fair to say that Cleveland is where they are because the East is weak as well? They haven't looked head and shoulders above the conference this postseason like Golden State has.

And don't give me that stuff about how Cleveland has star talent that takes over games. Atlanta had 3 guys go for 20+ tonight, and have at least 3 more guys that are capable of doing the same on any night.

Cleveland is better than the Hawks to me and they also happen to have the best player in the world on their team. It's called using my eye test and yours is different than mine. Mines tell me that the Hawks wouldn't be in that position in the West. And yeah, against who?

You could say that and I would agree with it because I don't think with what CLE been through, they would have made it to the WCFs with this team depending on who they matched up with. And you're proving my original point about Cleveland. Someone just threw in ATL.

That's where this whole convo that y'all keep bringing back up and trying to throw indirect shots about started from.

Porter deserves to start next year, but he needs to work on getting a consistent jumper.

I understand some people still believe in the Hawks or doubt the Cavs, that's fine. This Cavaliers team is so mentally tough and so talented that they should be favored in nearly every game against the Hawks. Especially since the Hawks offense is a lot easier to stop in the playoffs with multiple games of seeing the same things.

Team Basketball doesn't win NBA Titles. Superstars do.
Umm, last year and 2004 tells me otherwise. I think that the Cavs should be favored, and will likely win in 6 or 7 games, but don't sleep on the Hawks and their depth. Also, this system that is so "beatable" just won the Spurs a NBA championship and Budenholzer is/was by far Pop's best understudy/pupil. Don't be surprised if coach Bud takes a page from the '07 Spurs or '11 Mavericks and gives LeBron a cushion to shot jumpers especially with his recent struggles from the perimeter.

I think that's what is going to happen. But my question is what is going to happen when LeBron starts posting up. You can't give a cushion on post ups.

Not completely sure in that case but they have a few bigger defenders (Mike Scott and Paul Millsap) that they can try and throw at him. With Cleveland ' s seeming lack of depth this should be a very interesting series, IMHO.

This is where I think the forward-guard pick and roll/pop will give them trouble.

They will just pull another move from Pop's playbook, but something Larry Drew did when he was head coach too, and switch everything hoping (more like praying) LeBron doesn't destroy the Atlanta PG going one-on-one. And unlike the Spurs, Atlanta has more than a few athletic, quicker footed big men that can play out on the perimeter a bit.

Just realizing that out of the 4 reg season match ups, only one was after the deadline trade....don't think you can really draw any conclusions from the season series at all...

Team ball can definitely win championships....IMO team ball always wins championships....having a talented isolation player doesn't mean your not playing as a team.....

Anyway, rooting for Bud, genuinely happy for him...

Yea.. I just watched 3 of the game. Seems like the Cavs never had a consistent line up.

Team ball CAN win a championship, if you have multiple amazing players.

People using 04 Pistons and Last Year's Spurs are completely ignoring the fact that the Pistons had probably 4 guys in their lineup that was clearly at a star level, not to mention one of the best defensive guys in the history of the game.

I don't think I really need to mention that the Spurs have a superstar still. And last year, they had the energy and skill to still compete.

Team ball will only win if you have the talent to beat teams. Hawks don't have that. They could win this series, but they'd get crushed in the Finals because they simply don't have talent.

But I'm sure everyone will overlook that and simply focus on that statement. That's fine, history proves my point.

Edit: As for the Cavs not having quality depth...okay, that's what they said last series too. It's not like Shump and JR and Thompson and Jones haven't been doing the exact thing they did last series all year. People just assume that the Cavs depth isn't good because...I have no idea.

Oh well, perhaps if they win another series, they'll get the credit they deserve.
