Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
Some day people will learn to stop betting against Lebron and learn to accept he's this ERAs Jordon/Johnson/Bird, where as long as he's breathing his team has a better chance to beat the other team 100% of the time.Comment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
Man, all I said was I don't think someone from the East is beating LeBron.
It's not that serious. I even said I love the Hawks and think they are a good team.
Man. Might as well say everyone sucks. Get the same reaction.

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
I wasnt talking about you CMH but some guys here just made it clear that Atlanta has no business trying to compete.
The east is at an all time low. Very convenient for Lebron. Would love for him to try this out westComment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade in 2014 Finals: 29.2 PPG, 9 RPG, 3.6 APG
Combined salary: $37,740,500
Drew Gooden and Daniel Gibson in 2007 Finals: 23.6 PPG, 10.1 RPG, 2.8 APG
Combined Salary: $7,058,120
Interesting huh? Fortunately I don't see that happening this year, he's gold a solid team around him. Then again, I never expected the '14 Finals to happen the way they did so who knows. Atlanta can beat Cleveland but I'm not going to bet against LeBron.Comment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
Like I said, the narrative is already being written....safest bet is to just pick the Hawks...lol
Also, I see "but what if he played in the West?" Is the new 'thing' we're doing for LeBron this year, yeesh...Comment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
Dude I am probably LeBron's biggest fan on these boards but this was unfortunately proven not to be true in last year's finals. LeBron definitely needs help or his teams can get crushed, as seen in the '14 and '07 Finals. On a side note, last year I dug up this nice comparison of LeBron's help in previously said Finals.

it absolutley is true. Just like Jordan needed help, hell his help even won 55 games in 94 without him, i dont think you can take the best player off any team and that team wins 55 games.Comment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
you mean the west that Lebron has 2 titles vs? the west that the Cavs are 15-1 vs their last 16 in? i dont think a top 5 all time great has ever been disrespected as Lebron has in his career, its like he's Kevin Durant or something.Comment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
That dude Phil Jackson and other dude Scottie Pippen had themselves a year!
Honestly East was pretty down then too though. Reggie Miller and some decent guys, Ewing and some decent guys, some fairly recently added expansion groups.. I wanna say Pippen, Shaq, and Coleman were the only guys from the East to make any of the 3 all-nba teams.
East All Stars had Armstrong, Blaylock, Starks, Oakley, Kenny Anderson, Grant, 34 year old Nique.. Not the best group we've seen. It's not like they won 55 games playing in the late 80's with a stacked Eastern conference.
But yes every great player needs a great supporting cast to win titles. Wilt Chamberlain had seasons where he didn't even make the playoffs, Jerry West lost like 9 times in the finals, Kareem never won anything without Oscar Magic, Dr. J never won until he got Moses, Jordan was like 1-9 in the playoffs before Pippen.. A great player hasn't ever truly done it alone.

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
So just so we're clear here, we can give LeBron and the Cavs credibility for their regular season record against the west, but the Hawks still can't get no respect despite having more success against the west? They're 14-2 in their last 16 btw and that came after 5 straight losses to the west.Comment
