Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread

I just can't believe anyone in the East can beat LeBron anymore. I really like the Hawks. I've stayed silent all season whenever a friend of mine talks basketball and disses the Hawks, calling them a no star team with no chance. I love their system. I love their style. I love that team and how it plays. I think they do have stars and mostly because the NBA doesn't market those players, the general viewing public assumes they are talentless.

But I don't think anyone in the East is beating LeBron during his prime.

I know a Golden State/ATL series would be good, but dammit I want to see Lebron in the finals again anyway, even if they lose in 4-5 games. Who doesn't want to see the best in the world on the biggest stage? If you're a Warriors fan, what better way to establish yourself as the best than by beating the team with the best on it?

I don't understand the sentiment that one player makes the team. Didn't Westbrook prove this year that more than one guy must perform to be successful? Even when looking at LeBron, there's no way...if it must be him each night to do it all, if he can "will" the team to a series win -- even if he does -- they'll lose miserably in the finals.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

how did Westbrook prove that? sure he put up insane numbers, but it wasn't very efficent. he shot 42% and had 5 turnovers a game. Lebron has been to 5 straight confrence finals and could very well make it 5 straight finals. hard to argue with history but players who have done that well, usually do so until they are at the end of their careers. They have a better shot to win in the Finals then Atlanta does, Cleveland at least has the defenders at the important positions to keep up with GS while GS doesn't have an answer to stop Lebron, and he's not going to keep shooting this poorly in the playoffs.

But if they were in the East they would have gotten in.

They'll establish themselves as the best if they win the championship, regardless of who they beat in the Finals if they get there.

So if the Hawks win this series, I don't have to sit through yet another year of hearing about how little help LeBron has right?

kinda like we always have to hear about how Rose was injured months ago? dont worry, though, Hawks aren't beating the Cavs even with their 2nd and 3rd best players injured.

When people start posting like this (similar to how alabamarob was proclaiming the Hawks opponents as not worth showing up for) it makes you question how well in tuned they really are. This is basketball. This is the playoffs. Anything can and will happen.

Anyone else see the irony in this post? Lebron just made his 5th straight ECF, he's beaten better teams then this atlanta team before and with lesser talent (first time to SCF with Cavs) im not sure why im supposed to think atlanta can win.

Man I need to see Atlanta win this series. I need it to happen in 5 or less preferably. I need to see the LeBron stans reactions to that.

He's also lost to teams just as statistically good (or even worse) than Atlanta. Well correction his teams because you know it's not LeBron James versus 5 players.
