re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
True lol but I think he just really wanted out of Houston, so he'd be fine getting the same amount for a team he'd actually want to play for.Comment

Sources: As 12:01 AM nears, free agent Hassan Whiteside's focus is centered on Miami and Dallas. Decision could come quickly on July 1.Comment

What would a fair trade be though? Most I can see Raptors offering is:
Ross,Wright,2017 1st(more favorable of their 2).
Would that be worth Noel?
Ross would be their starting SG(ending the starting SG trio they went with). Wright would have shot at being their starting PG. 2017 pick obviously could help them in a future package deal, or combining it with their own 1st to move up in draft.
If Philly really wants to trade Noel their best bet is to wait until the smoke clears with Free Agency and trade him to a team that missed out on their top targets. Capitalizing on another teams desperation FTW.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

I feel like the 76ers can get a much better package than that for Noel. I just don't see the trading one of their two best players last year and someone who projects to be one of the best defensive big's in the coming years for three bench warmers (even if they do show potential) and what will likely be a 1st Rounder in the 20's. Surely another team can offer something better than that.

The guy just LOVES tinkering with his roster. I wouldn't be surprised if a deal does come through.
Anywho, DeRozan will be meeting with the Raptors in LA tomorrow and possibly 4 other teams (Miami, Dallas, Philly and the Lakers)Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Some good perspective for us on how we should be looking at these new deals:
From Bobby Marks (former front office exec from the Nets):
Can't stress enough that contracts under the new TV $ should be viewed as a % against the cap compared to actual $ figure.
For example an $18m contract signed this July = a $13m contract based on a $70m cap from 2015-16.
Last year...$13M of a $70M cap? 19%.
Essentially the equivalent of last year's numbers.
And the cap goes up next year.
Some of these deals are going to be looking ridiculous. We as fans have to adjust how we look at them. 19% of your cap for an injury prone player is still a lot but last I checked it was Dolan's money and we haven't been hesitant to ship out players with years remaining on their contract.Comment

Their bench will be ungodly terrible though. People thought Miami's was bad when LeBron was there... they had 7 or 8 non-league-minimum guys on those teams. The Clippers would have 0. Zero. They wouldn't even be able to sign their draft picks unless Durant wants to take a slightly steeper paycut.NFL: Bills

$18M of a $94M cap? Noah would account for 19% of the Knicks' salary cap.

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
I mean, if Durant can get roughly $25 mil on a "max deal" or take $24 mil to go to the Clippers, I don't think that $1 mil will be what stops him. If he thinks that's the best situation for him, he can do an ad with his new teammates CP3 and Blake and make that $1 mil back easily.
Also the Joakim thing, I mentioned earlier that the deal was the "same as the Rolo deal" but those figures don't make it seem better to me. I've gotta learn cap figures and how everything works, but does it sound better that he'd be almost 1/5 of our cap? That sounds worse to me.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it
