re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
Soooo we shouldn't talk about not wanting to give Dwight Howard 30 million dollars a year because we're going to be talking about how dumb it is to give Bismack Biyombo 16 million a year? Doesn't really make sense to me, sorry.Comment

Not what i said at all. My initial comment was about how people are talking about him like he's useless, not about money.Comment

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
Nobody is giving that man $30 Mil. The only reason it was brought up was because that is what a max contract would start for him IF someone was to give it him.
Has nothing to do with what HE thinks he's worth, it's just an informational point nothing more, nothing less.#RespectTheCultureComment

He's far from useless but he's a problem nontheless. He could be a great player if he understood his role and his limitiations but he doesn't. He could be the best defensive center.Comment

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
So we really gonna try to slick talk now? Nobody is talking about Dwight like he's useless. A max salary for him is said to be 30 million. A salary that his agent is said to be pursuing for him as his last agent was pushing for last year. All talk around here about Dwight was within the context of if a team signed him for that number. If he doesn't get that number cool, but guys were simply discussing if a team signed him for that. Not even sure why you two are chiming in with this mess.

Again, the only reason it was brought up was as an informational point, which I basically copied and pasted from ProBasketballTalk. Maybe I should've posted a link earlier to avoid this whole discussion and that way context would be provided a lot earlier.
Howard averaged 13.7 points a game on only 8.5 shot attempts per game, and added 11.8 rebounds a night. He played good defense, although not at the pre back surgery levels. Howard hopes to get a max contract, which will start at $30.8 million for him (with the projected salary cap of $94 million).Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 06-29-2016, 07:16 PM.#RespectTheCultureComment

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
Still not seeing the issue here. Dwight's max is 30 million, people commented that they wouldn't/don't want Dwight for 30 million a year, somehow that becomes people acting like Dwight is useless. Dwight's agents have made it clear in the league that they're looking for a max contract for him. Dwight certainly didn't opt out of a 24 million dollar pay day to take less money. But whatever, we can keep it moving.
Anyway, was on Facebook and saw someone share a link from ESPN and Ramona Shelburne apparently had the balls to get on TV today and say that it's disrespectful that Durant is meeting with the Clippers and not the Lakers and that he should give the Lakers a meeting out of respect to the organization. ESPN is amazing man lol.Comment

Lol ESPN is trash. If the jazz had the Lakers roster no one would talk about them getting good free agents so why do people(espn) think good free agents would go to the lakers

Hm I think Dwight in Boston is a good look...I still think he can do what he does well at a high level and with the rule changes potentially eliminating a big downside to his game...he could be exactly what that team needsComment

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
and here we are
Technically Howard was/is a max player with the Rockets. He took a paycut coming from the Lakers and had he not opted out he'd be making 25 Million.
Looking at what Pack posted, it wasn't so bad, but again we all know the situation in Houston was really messed up, which is why I say to just discount the dude like he doesn't mean much without bringing up that lame situation makes little sense.
I don't care if you're mad about it, call it what you will, but if DeAndre Jordan can be maxed out and all he does is block weak side shots and catch lobs, then Dwight could actually do the same thing IMO.
I aint rallying for money or anything but whatever argument you're making King is partial of all the facts.
Either way the market will dictate what the dude will make.
A guy making that much to me, is saying he's at least one of the feature players on the team, and that's the message that will be sent.
Then again he just might be shooting high to start off with, which is actually wise in negotiations.Comment

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
But he's a long ways from that MVP-level player who commanded a max contract.
If everything went right, health-wise, and he might get 15/10 for a couple of seasons.
Is that worth the max? Maybe to a team that needs to spend up to the floor but contending teams with all-stars probably can't afford to give him $30 million.Comment
