re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
Which is exactly my point. It's clear that internal defense was an issue for GSW that reared it's ugly head in the finals, but yet instead of grabbing an internal defender they go and get KD in hopes that instead of having a defense, their just going to outscore everybody, and most likely will pending any injury.
I don't give 10 craps about his legacy.
The dude has only been in the NBA 10 years. Let him win a ring and be happy.
I don't get people like you who are upset, especially claiming to be a Celtics fan that he didn't choose another team as if you actually care how he stacks up against Magic Johnson
This whole i only wanna see KD's legacy go sky high front is the worst personna I've seen in this thread.
We all know GSW has more talent than the Cavs do, and the Cavs got hot when it mattered. To have KD go to GSW and win doesn't really prove anything versus if he won it with the Clippers or Spurs. Again, just my opinion as an NBA fan.Comment

durant is going to average between 15 to 18 points a game. u guys are crazy to believe he's going to average more than that. that team is too loaded with too many gunners to believe otherwise. curry is not a point guard and the warriors won't be playing many games into the 4th, especially not at home.Last edited by Teddy_Long; 07-05-2016, 11:51 AM.Comment

Man all this talk about loyalty and what his legacy is going to be like now... Who cares.
Can't we all just agree were salty he went to GS instead of trying to rationalize things. I know I am. **** that lol. I don't care about his legacy or if he's not loyal or any of that. I'm mad he made a team that's been to the Finals in back to back years that much better and any hope of my Pacers getting a ring any time soon is basically gone. Lord knows ain't no one gonna come and team up in Indy to give us a chance either.Indianapolis Colts

Bah, I think I'm bitter as F about this entire thing though. Trust me, it's not about the Celtics, I just wanted him to go to a different team than the already amazing Warriors. I mean who even stands a chance against them this year. Maybe the Cavs? Maybe. Doubtful.Last edited by extremeskins04; 07-05-2016, 11:59 AM.Comment

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
Can someone tell me if it would have been remotely possibly for Bogut to stayed with the Durant acquisition?
Which is exactly my point. It's clear that internal defense was an issue for GSW that reared it's ugly head in the finals, but yet instead of grabbing an internal defender they go and get KD in hopes that instead of having a defense, their just going to outscore everybody, and most likely will pending any injury.
One could look at the interior defense as the key last year but one could also have looked at their 3 point shots, especially from Harrison Barnes not hitting anything (and I mean anything) whatsoever when wide open. Barnes couldn't drive the paint and when he did, he practically couldn't make a layup. There was absolutely no threat from Barnes either as a outside shot maker or a slasher to the basket. The sad thing is that Barnes couldn't even drive the paint. Durant completely changes the warriors attack. Durant can legitimately shoot and drive the paint. Had Barnes had an ounce of what Durant is capable of, even without a lock down interior big man, the Warriors would have been two time repeat champs. Instead of Draymond practically only looking for Curry and Klay as first options, Durant is the piece that will really space the floor.
That's fine, let him win a ring but all I was saying was this really doesn't prove anything, and I know you don't care about his legacy. Many do though.

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
Maybe not here, but I definitely saw A LOT of people saying the Warriors weren't all that special.
Curry was just a jump shooter who wasn't all that good to begin with.
Thompson was just a spot shooter. Couldn't create for himself or lead a team.
Green was...well, a lot of that was said in the Game Threads.
And the same people I saw those comments from (not saying here on OS) suddenly are upset because Durant is joining a stacked team. Can't have it both ways.
Again, most of this is on facebook and I don't take most of my friends seriously there. I come here because most guys actually watch basketball and read articles and pour their lives into this stuff. We care.
I do find it interesting that a lot of guys that don't frequent the game threads are the ones saying a lot of negative things about Durant though. Not trying to call out people, but it makes me yearn for the season to start so I can just read the comments from the guys that I trust actually know ball, even if I might not agree with their opinion."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob NeyerComment
