If y'all don't want to watch blowouts that's on y'all. Fine, whatever, but y'all need to go somewhere with this our guys aren't trying mess. They're most certainly trying and most certainly playing hard. This ain't the NBA All-Star game where both sides pretty much have agreed that they're only gonna kinda try on both ends in the last three minutes of the fourth quarter IF the game is close. Don't confuse them making it look easy with it actually being easy to the point that they're not trying cause the guys on the other side of the court are playing for the pride of their countries too and I promise you they're trying as hard as they can prove they can play ball. We've seen what our national team not trying or not trying hard enough looks like already. It's called a 2004 Bronze medal.

Re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
I think summer programming becoming so much bigger of an advertising market has affected it. NBC doesn't want to give up their regularly scheduled programming so they find an hour here or there to squeeze the Olympics in.
Could be revisionist history or what I wish really happened, but I'd prefer the Olympics were on 24-7 for the two weeks we have Olympic games. With the only true breaks being the news (the U.S. presidential election is always during the Olympics so no stopping that news train) and recaps/highlights/analysis."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I'm not speaking on times just coverage of the games as far as what's going on.
The crazy part about times is that different countries mean different start times.
I want to be immersed in the games as well and there is no wonder to me being a former GE employee that they would screw stuff upComment

NBC is the best when they actually show coverage but their scheduling is awful when it comes to the Olympics.

I'm sick of the Bob Costas cut-ins as if he has to attach a story to each event while we miss something or they tape delay it.
The last Olympics coverage was terrible. Especially with the time difference.Comment

Possible good news coming for OKC fans?

Re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
I actually think OKC makes the playoffs this year. I don't see a reason for Westbrook to leave and join the rumored ****ty Laker situation.
Wouldn't be surprised if they got Blake after next year to run with him.

There's Batman and no Robin. And I don't think Billy Donovan has the balls to reign in Westbrook from averaging 25+ FGAs/game.
I'm really looking forward to Westbrook & Payne tearing it up pre game since that'll be the most excitement for OKC games.Comment

I can't see OKC making the playoffs unless Oladipo somehow develops a consistent perimeter shot.

Westbrook didn't do that last time KD was gone though? Why would he now?

Re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
OKC just missed the playoffs with a worse team in place minus KD last year didn't they? I could see them making it as an eighth seed with Westbrook going nuts again. He's got even more to prove now.
