Never had a feeling one way or another about this guy and just considered him to be the appointed LeBron stalker. Im curious how he has any idea what's going on in New York, with the Knicks, or with Phil.

The Knicks are truly dysfunctional. I happen to like Hornacek both as a player and a coach but he's going into a situation that's doomed to failure.

His argument was that Hornacek was never associated with the triangle.

Maybe a coaching candidate might sign on to it just to get another gig?

Every time I read a story coming from Dwight's mouth, he's the victim.

What part of this particular situation is dysfunctional or doomed?

I like it better when the Knicks are a playoff team. Hope they find a way to be good again. Same goes for the Lakers.

The whole dysfunction between Phil and ownership, the whole "I want to run the Triangle" mess while having players that can't play that system. At least they've hired a coach that could at least try to put the players in a position to play to their strengths but we'll see.

Oh yeah, and the Raptors have the Knicks pick this year

Cold piece that Dwight tells management SVG lost the locker room then thinks its not gonna affect management in a bad way.

What else do you expect to come out of that situation bro bro?

Don't tell me you expected them to give Stan a pep talk and Orlando just auto wins as a result of that?

                        Ratings do say that, yes.

But outside of that, how is better?

Hornacek actually ran some triangle concepts in Phoenix(every team does to an extent)but it won't be his primary nor secondary Offense.

Ah, you've fallen into the trap of believing the nonsense the NY media puts out. The reality is we have no idea what Phil is thinking and Isola is angry about it so he makes stuff up and puts it out as fact. As far as the triangle, im indifferent but it's not like we lost 50 games because of our offensive system, we have to run something, and with a lame duck coach (HALLELUJAH) it had to be something familiar. I never had a problem with the triangle, only Rambis as hes a garbage coach. Either Hornacek comes in and adopts the triangle or Phil let's him weave him the principles into his own system, either way, this is not dysfunction. If you think it is, I don't even now how you'd describe us 10 years ago. We just suck, and it's not easy to become a winner when you have no cap room and no draft picks. I'd like to hear the course of action Phil should've taken to get vastly different results. Only mistake (depending on who you ask) is the Melo deal, because it ties our hands.

                                re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread

This is the first time in my life I don't know how to feel about a Knicks coaching hire. I wonder if Vogel wanted some personnel control, that's the only other reason I can think of is if Phil was that turned off by his offensive prowess. That or Vogel turned down the Knicks, which seems unlikely.

At this point I'm not convinced that Blatt would have been a better hire but nearly everything I know about Hornacek's coaching career, I've learned in the last 24 hours. He annoyed the hell out of me as a player though lol.

Seems like he adjusts to his players and he should maximize Taps in a modern way, not like Rambis demanding he posts up x-amount of times and shoot less threes.
