If it were enough I'd be sure the lakers would trade their #2 pick.

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
If they somehow managed to acquire Jimmy without giving up Wiggins/KAT, then damn that's a nice core to have. They'll definitely need shooters to round it out unless Rubio/Wiggins can make a huge improvement in the next few months.Comment

They won't because they can get much better for Jimmy.Comment

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
Ain't nobody giving up some big offer for Jimmy. The dude is a career 13ish ppg scorer, who looks as if this around 20ish mark will likely be his top out.
He's not really an above average rebounder or playmaker, and his defense has decline the past two seasons now. On top of that he can't shoot. He's a worse outside shooter than the majority of scoring wingmen. His shooting this year is comparable to LeBron, DeRozan, if that gives an idea.
He's without a doubt one of the best two way players in the league, but if Chicago wanted some franchise altering pieces for him they should have traded him two years ago when it seemed as if he was about to explode on to the scene.
Wiggins is already giving equal production. Hell even LaVine is only scoring about 5ppg less (only 2 points less per 36) and is already a better prospect than Jimmy was in his first two years while also being younger.
I think y'all might be a little delusional on what his trade value might be. Now Boston on the other hand, they might give up some assets considering they have them in abundance.

I wouldn't trade my shot at Ingram or Simmons for Butler. Even if they bust I think keeping that pick is the right decision potential wise.
Unless they feel as if Russell is for sure capable of being their star of the future. Also, not sure Chicago would want Randle. But maybe.Comment

Idk, but if he pans out the way some project him to his ceiling is an elite scorer.
I'm not in love with either guy, could see them both doing well or busting. But I would take the chance simply because Jimmy isn't getting them out of the West anyways.Comment

On the other hand, I would do that trade for someone like KD or PG.

The player they take at 5 isn't getting them out of the West so I don't understand the point of that comment.
Hell, there's no guarantee Thibs will play whoever they take at 5, knowing how he feels about rookies.#RespectTheCultureComment

Oh I know that, I was talking about the Lakers at 2 with the West thing.
I feel like judging by his first two season Wiggins is a better prospect than Jimmy. And I don't think LaVine has shown that he can't be either.. Though it's highly unlikely.
If they could get him for the 5th I'd do it, but I wouldn't give a 5th plus my young guys. Minnesota makes some moves and they could have loads of cap, with the assurance of being able to keep the 3 young guys long term as well.
Most of all I just don't see Jimmy reaching much higher than he's at now. I don't see him being the type of scorer to push them to a level they won't reach with the core they have, and since getting paid his defense I feel has declined some as well.. This year his overall interest and fire just seemed down.
I know Thibs will want him, so there's that.
