I'm a fan of this trade.

I didn't think RoLo and KP were going to be a long term fit together. I loved having RoLo and he loved being in NY, but I felt he cannibalized KP's paint touches. Also with the way the league is now, it's hard to compete with those two in the frontcourt.

I've spent DRose's career pretty much slandering him (not as much on here as irl) and now he's on my team, so great irony. He does seem to be the type of guard that should thrive with Hornacek.

Also can't forget that Tony Wroten should be healthy this upcoming season as well, so it'll be a chance for him to show what he's got. He's actually like 6 months younger than Grant.

That's honestly a bargain of a contract in this climate IMO. He's a legit starting C and he fits with basically anybody. I can't believe the Knicks actually gave him up in this deal.

The best case scenario for the Knicks at this point is that they absolutely do NOT sign Dwight, they let Rose expire and walk next year, and maybe Melo finally gets pissed off and waives his trade clause.

I think Lopez ends up being traded at least two more times before that contract runs out.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's on the move again before the season starts.

If the Knicks can get around 17-18ppg and 7apg and 60+ games from Rose, it'll be a huge steal for Phil and Co. They get rid of RoLo's contract and upgrade at point guard. Just need to use the cap space they have to sure up that Center spot (Dwight?).

If the Knicks can get around 17-18ppg and 7apg and 60+ games from Rose, it'll be a huge steal for Phil and Co. They get rid of RoLo's contract and upgrade at point guard. Just need to use the cap space they have to sure up that Center spot (Dwight?).

Been defending Phil since he got here but I will ride a horse cross-country to Montana and slap him if he signs Duhwight. Would go against all of his Zen/Magic/Sorcerer teachings and philosophies to bring in a herb like that.

If I had any faith whatsoever with what Paxson and Foreman would do with this "value" then I'd feel better, but they're both idiots, it's been confirmed a few times now.

Yeah, but they still have what 6-7 players that they need to add? In today's FA climate with above average role players likely making 10M+ they're really going to have to stretch that 30M.

Not happy that RoLo is gone, not sold on Rose being any good at this stage of his career.

Also, if NYK gets Dwight, that would be the worst.

Lol I don't like the idea of them getting Dwight either but I don't think it would be terrible if the price is right. They can't break the bank on a prima-donna like him.

If I'm a Knicks fan, I would have rather just kept Lopez and signed a guy like Jeremy Lin or even Brandon Jennings and just prayed they aren't as bad as Calderon. Rose played basically all year last year and was a less efficient scorer than MCW and doesn't really bring anything else to the table at this point. And if he actually becomes good again, then you're stuck letting him walk next year for nothing or investing big money in a guy you know is a ticking time bomb. The fact that Chicago got any value for him is a win.
