    Re: A new rivalry brewing...

These arent real rivalries. This seems more like a marketing ploy to draw more interest than it being a rivalry. Most rivalries have history behind it, important games, not preseason garbage.

They come from heated game battles, and playoff battles, championship game battles, not from a guy stealing a ball and dunking it and then hollering at someone afterwards, and not this fake Kobe Ray Allen trash.

the man does have a point. The real rivalries in the past were team v. team, not player v. player. Celtics v. Lakers, Knicks v. Heat/Pacers/Bulls, Pistons/Bulls. While you could say it was Larry v. Magic, the reality is that both teams as a whole hated one another.

Guess what though, the Pistons get their rings November 2nd. Thats somthing LA, New Jersey, "Minny" or any other crap team is getting.

The Wolves and the Spurs were nowhere to be found... It just seems like those teams are emotionally weak. Whenever somthing dramatic happens to their team, they play like crap. When Detroit lost what was supposed to be the the momentum swinging game two of the NBA Finals, the Lakers got their *** cooked in game three. The Pistons are used to pressure and they happen to enjoy it and thats somthing the Wolves and the Spurs lack.

The players might look good on the paper, but when they are on the court, it's completely different.

              LOL! I'm not.

I don't make excuses when we loose. Neither do the Pistons.

The NBA is about match-ups. Lakers matched up with the Spurs and Wolves. Malone was able to put a body on Duncan/Garnett. Shaq was able to keep Parker out of the paint, make him shoot jump shots which weren't falling. With the Pistons, Billups didn't drive in because he has a great jumpshot. We didn't have Malone to help Shaq with the Wallaces, we had an inexperienced Brian Cook. If the Spurs had played them, Parker and Duncan would have played the pick and roll MUCH better than the Lakers. Garnett would have been there to rebound against the Wallaces. It's how they match up.

And yes, injuries are apart of basketball. Cassell was injured and the Lakers were able to win with him out of the Wolves' lineup. I don't think there is a doubth that the series would have been much tougher had Cassell been there. The way you are making it sound is as if all those other "crap teams" couldn't hang with the Pistons.

                  It's almost, dare I say . . . Laker fan-esque

Make sure you watch the Rockets against the Pistons on TNT so you can see Detroit get their rings.

I don't remember saying they were unstoppabale. They did win 54 games out of 82 so they are far from unbeatable.

Oh yeah, remember, november the 2nd. TNT.

Every other team is weak BTW.
