    Did he draft Pierce?

I actually saw a list of their picks since 2000 earlier today and it isn't pretty... the best players they drafted since that year was Al Jefferson who they traded 3 years later and Joe Johnson who they traded 1 year later. They also traded Chauncey Billups a year after drafting him in 97.

      This.

And we can't pretend like this changes much for the East anyways. OKC was already a playoff squad, this just makes them more competitive against those top 3 teams in the West.

In the East you'll likely have a new team competing for the 8th seed spot. This hasn't really changed anything in the grand scheme of things.

I think it's more so in combination with losing Butler. That's two playoff teams that just got wiped out. Plus Hayward may not sign with Boston now that PG is off the table. For the East's sake hopefully Riley convinces him and Griffin goes to Boston or whatever.

No he didn't draft Paul Pierce. Chris Wallace did.

Griffin is staying with the Clippers.

For the East, they need young guys like Embiid, Fultz, Tatum, etc. to pan out.

And for Giannis and the Bucks to improve to a top 4 seed, win 50-55 games.

Again PG has been going west for some time now. Jimmy Butler got traded a week ago, we knew Paul George was leaving wherever for the Lakers when that happened and nobody lamented the loss of stars/two playoff teams in the East and needing to tank conferences and change playoff bracketing as a result. It hasn't been mentioned once until tonight.

Anywho, It'll be interesting to see how the next 24 hrs play out. The Raptors are said to be making a hard push to resign Lowry and Ibaka but I haven't heard very much about outside talent as of yet. I feel like Ujiri and Webster are going to let everyone go bananas while they go for more under the radar type moves.
