"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Brogdon is the reigning rookie of the year and i think he'll only get better as his career progresses. You're calling him an average starter as if the dude is 8 years deep into a journeyman career. Look no further than Crowder for your image of an average starter.

NBA teams have always loved the unknown when it comes to future drafts.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
As already mentioned in here a few days ago and now again thanks to Zach Lowe. The Bucks offer is better. Middleton is already Crowder (or better) and Brogdon is what you hope you're getting out of that Brooklyn pick. Add in the first round pick they'd include and Cavs are set for now and when LeBron walks out that door.

and Middleton/Crowder are very similar players you might trust Middleton's shot more though. I think Middleton is probably better but that's splitting hairs.
I can see the argument tho the Bucks is the better offer as far a win now stance because lebron would probably rather have Brogdon than the BKN pick lol. But it's clear CLE really wants the BKN pick.Last edited by BleacherBum2310; 08-30-2017, 02:50 PM.Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics

Matter of fact, I've yet to see the words "Strong/Deep/Best Draft" NOT get posted on here around this same time since I've been posting here. [emoji23]#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Pack may be influencing me, or it might just be because I'm tired of hearing about the value of that Brooklyn pick, maybe even that Danny seems like he has a horseshoe stuck up his *** with the fortune he seems to have on him. I don't know, but I feel like it's not going to end up being a top 3 pick. I don't think the Nets are going to be as bad as they were last year. The odds of them being trash enough to land in the top 3 of the draft for a third consecutive season and pick number 1 overall back-to-back? I just don't see it.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Just heard on Twitter Woj said (I'd imagine on SC) that the deal is getting done with no extra compensation.

Damn it, this does not help our losing efforts. If we want that number 1 pick we need a steady diet of Cam Payne for ALL 82 games man.
