So they Cavs dragged this trade out for a week, trashed their new player by leaking that he's damaged goods and used his injury as negotiating ploy, all for a damn 2020 2nd Round Pick?

I can see what Kyrie (and LeBron next year) wanted out of that trash organization. IT deserved better from the Celtics but he deserved better for his new team, as well. I hope that the 2nd Round pick was worth it Dan & Koby, you schmucks.

      Lastly, Go Nets!

If New Orleans trades AD, they might as well fold the franchise.

AD should be in line for the super Max on his next deal. But does he leave $50-70 million on the table to sign with another team? Even if he does, no guarantee that he'd make a team a likely Finals contender.

He puts up massive stats but has made NO at best a borderline playoffs team. Which teams have the cap space and the talent to acquire AD and vault to the top of the league in the next year or two?

Celtics just used their cap space right? So did Washington? In the West, can the Spurs open up cap space? Can the Rockets?

I have a question for you guys. It's one of those old thread style we use to see. VS lol...... But who would you start your team with if you had to chose between the 2? KAT or AD?

I know stupid question. But I wanted to know what everyone thought.

Probably KAT just due to his shooting and age mostly.

I'm not sure the Boston Globe could come up with a more Celtic friendly spin to this whole ordeal lol. Team trades injured fan favorite to biggest conference rival, the rival finds an issue in his physical and gets an extra pick out of it, and they're the garbage organization?

As a follower of a true garbage organization, it seems to me you're looking in the wrong direction.

Go right ahead if you want to ignore Cleveland finding no new information during the physical, leaking possibly wanting to void the deal, and later additional compensation demands through the media without ever contacting Boston if you must.

So they did the physical, and decided they wanted more afterwards. I would still say that they saw something in the physical they weren't comfortable with, but that's semantics.

I guess I just don't see that other stuff as the work of a garbage organization. It's almost opposite. I'd love if my team could bully another organization into giving us an extra pick through the media. Sounds like a GM I want in my front office. Cavs didn't lose anything but a week.

All comes down to moral principles when doing business. There are ways to go about "bullying" another organization into giving extra assets in a trade. Both sides have to feel the other is dealing under good faith. Has to be trust there. Demanding more in return after conducting a physical in which no new information was found is the complete opposite.

If Kevin O'Connor is to be believed, it was Dan Gilbert pulling the strings behind the scenes. Explains a lot about how things went down. "Bullied" Boston into surrendering a 2020 second round pick while alienating Isaiah Thomas in the process just to save face with your fanbase.

If other teams refuse to work with Altman after this trade for the rest of the season and going forward, then I can put some stock into the "moral principles of business" being violated.

Even though us fans aren't going to give two damns if my team and the others are working in good faith. Not the first nor last time there has been some "ethics" issues among teams trading.

And before anyone says it, this will not be the reason Lebron leaves either.

I can't really blame the Cavs to be honest. It might only be a 2nd round pick but they still ended up with an asset they weren't going to receive a week ago. For them it was worth the shot of receiving something more. Plus there was also the possibility of another team swooping in and offering a more enticing package.

When it comes to IT, as a Celtics fan, it is hard not to love him. He put it all out on the court every night and everything that went down in the playoffs (his sister passing, losing a tooth, playing injured) really personified the Celtic mentality and demonstrated the type of person and player he is.

With that said I do think he put himself in a bad position this off-season when he was talking about a max contract and "backing up the brinks trucks" while dealing with and rehabbing a hip injury that can keep him out for an undisclosed amount of time. As great as he was last year teams are going to be looking at what he is able to do in this upcoming season when determining how much money to offer him. For the Celtics this was probably the best opportunity to get max value for Isaiah. The Celtics might have done him dirty but this is a business and you can't let emotion get in the way of decision that might be best for a team in the long run.

I can see teams not wanting to deal with the Cavs but let's be real. If the Cavs come calling with a good offer teams are going to listen. The Cavs can't and won't get away with doing these types of things in future trades.

After a long week of rumors, reports, and reactions to the blockbuster deal involving Kyrie Irving and Isaiah Thomas, we’re back to where we started. Except everyone involved looks worse in the process.
