Their bench is improved, they got more athletic, and when IT is back they have a guard that reads the p-n-r better than Kyrie did.

As for losing the point guard who was supposed to be the future of the team, obviously he didn't want to be the future of this team. He would have likely left when his contract ended if they hand't moved him. Considering the pick they got in exchange they upgraded in that department too.

You're looking at this too much as an on paper move. It's not about Jeff Green just suddenly being a better player, it's about him being able to do the things they weren't able to do last year because their roster wasn't flexible. They literally couldn't play Frye against some line-ups because he cannot come into the game and defend an offense that spreads you out. He could not come in and guard Draymond Green, he could not switch onto those high ball screens. Likewise Thompson could be neutralized because they could basically leave him wide open anywhere on the court. He can't do anything at the offense end. Jeff Green can come in and match-up with someone like Green, and you can't just leave him wide open like Thompson.
Because it'll be scrubs like them eventually logging major minutes when Rose goes down with injury and IT hasn't suited up yet for half a season.

          How about those Grizzlies, though?

They let the team’s most storied player in franchise history walk this offseason, move coaches in and out seemingly more than any team in the league, let go of my favorite player on the team in Vince. Now Marc is open to leaving and they are likely headed towards a rebuild soon. They had a ****ty off-season. Unless Reke wants to get back to that 20/5/5 type of production.

I never acted like he was some big difference maker. I’m just saying it’s not as simple as just saying he sucks, or he washed, if he actually gives the team something they need. Which I think he can.

Nobody is saying he’s the savings grace, or his going to come in and have a career year, or anything even remotely close to those type of statements.

Of course not. You just said he "can come in and match up with someone like Green". Then again, there's quite a few players in the league that fit that description. That's like when Raptors Fans here were touting the signing of Demarre Carroll, even going as far as to call him a "Lebron Stopper" or "another body to slow down Lebron" and we seen how that turned out.

When is the last time Jeff Green gave a team "something they need"? Human Hypothetical is the perfect nickname for him based on his career.

Definitely headed to a rebuild. No other option really. They have a stable PG, but that's it.

Just so I'm clear here, I'm the one looking at things on paper too much despite the fact I'm judging by what we've actually seen all of them do in recent years, but you're saying what all these guys are GOING to do for the Cavs not based off anything we've seen of them being capable of doing in the last five years but based on what they should be able to do in theory if....you know....you just looked at their additions to the roster on paper?

But not quite a few on the Cavs roster which is the point of them adding a player like that being a good fit for them.

I’m not acting like he’s going to be some starter who finally comes in and puts up 15 and 7, reaching that potential everyone always thought he had. We talking about a 8th, 9th man on the bench here.. some of you are reacting as if I’m saying these dudes are coming to Cleveland to be 30+ minute guys...

Judging by what you’ve seen them do on crappy teams with roles that are too big for them while ignoring what they could add to a team like Cleveland’s bench.

If Jeff Green and Jae Crowder don’t end up as better options than James Jones then y’all are more than welcome to come back and find these posts mid-season and remind me of how horrible they are.

Parsons signing being a dud was the final straw for them.

Who the hell cares about what the Cavs are doing mid-season? You really think Jeff Green and Jae Crowder are going to be the reason they beat the Warriors?

If Lopez can come in snag 13 rebounds, we in really good shape.
