The Celtics' overflowing backcourt also factored into their decision to pass on Fultz, sources say.

Always felt there was going to be a major logjam problem if they kept Fultz.

This was the best thing to happen to Fultz. Now if Philly can add some consistent shooters and stay healthy, they might just be able to sneak into the Playoffs.

It's more he feels like there isn't much difference between the top 4 players in this draft (Fultz, Ball, Tatum, Jackson), which I believe after doing research on the top guys in the draft. I'm guessing his list is probably Fultz, Jackson, Tatum, Ball (and I wouldn't be surprised if that was the order either).

Okay I saw the Woj tweet and still thought they got two picks. They're getting an either or out of this deal from Philly.

Celtics will get Lakers pick if it falls between 2 and 5 in the 2018 draft, per league source. If not, the Celtics will get the Kings in '19

It is very possible. Get some veterans and stay healthy, I think they can be a 7th or 8th seed. East is easier to sneak in. Locked teams to get in is Cle, Bos, TOR, Was, Mil. I don't think ATL gets in this year. I don't think Indiana gets in because I think Paul George gets traded sometime before trade deadline, can't let him go without getting some thing in return. I don't think Chicago gets in, see Butler getting traded and them rebuilding. So 6th-8th spots is up for grabs. I see Miami getting into playoffs. Charlotte can have a bounce back year. So 76ers have a legit chance. They just need to stay healthy and get chemistry.

Celtics could have like the 1 and 4 next year. Kind of crazy. Courtesy of LA too.

And I'm sure they'll all be healthy and play together by the year 2021. Provided one of them isn't traded away just to tank and get another top 3 pick.

Could have 1 and 2 also if you really want to get crazy. Gotta hit on these picks though otherwise it's pretty worthless in the end.

Why would they trade any of these guys to tank? Only one I could remotely see them trying to move for a top pick is Embiid. He's the only one you could make the argument is injury prone. You sounding kinda haterish here.

I like the trade, if Ainge is content with what it is likely to be available at #3 then trading down to #3 and adding a pick on the #2-#5 range next year or the Kings' pick a year later makes sense.

Call it a gut feeling, but I'm all but completely convinced the Lakers are going to take Jackson with the second pick. I don't feel they're going with Ball.

At this point, I've read almost all scenarios and I'm honestly ok with whatever they decide to go with. Ball, Jackson, or trade it.

Funny how no one really knows what the lakers are gonna do at this point. I'am hoping the Front office has an idea at least.

Is Jackson talking about Fultz now that he sees this Philly trade that's gonna happen?

If the Lakers don't take Ball, I feel there will be some trades for the middle picks.

Having Ball drop and someone go up is going to have an effect on team plans. Imagine picking 4th and suddenly having Ball available. You didn't work him out, you had your sights on Fox or Smith, so now if you're Phoenix, do you trade down? Sacramento would love Ball (imo) and Phoenix could get an extra pick out of it.

That means Orlando has to suddenly consider a point guard instead of assuming the top three are gone.

I'm going to have my popcorn ready. Might be another Noel situation in our hands.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

He may turn out to be a good player but isn't he playing the same position as Ingram, the guy on whom they have the biggest hopes?
