Hmm I just checked the FA list and NVE isn't listed as a FA and next years list looks brutal.......

The best players are:

Glen Robinson, Antoine Walker, Reef, and Latrell Sprewell.

I'm having second thoughts on the trade now................

I wouldn't mind doing some sort of swap with the Charlotte Bobcats like VC and this years first rounder for the Bobcats first rounder. No protection on the picks.

The Bobcats would get a star player to sell tickets who's in his prime and played college ball in the area. The Bobcats would also get a first rounder to add to their youth movement while the Raps would get a high selection and cap space.

There is no way Charlotte would give up their wealth of cap space for VC.

I'm not crazy about getting Van Exel but even if Shareef is a free agent I would think there would be a good chance that he would resign in Toronto if he likes it there. He's still a better player than either Carter or Rose. In Shareef's draft year he expessed a desire for Toronto to draft him because he liked the ethinicity of the city. The Raps drafted Camby instead(ouch).

Even if there isn't much of a free agent class for 2005 the Raps have to get rid of Carter and Rose because their max contracts run for the next 4 years and they need cap room to sign Bosh long term. With Carter and Rose taking up half their payroll there's is no way they can build a winner and if they wait any longer it will be virtually impossible to get rid of them. There's also the danger of china doll Carter getting hurt again so time is of the essence. The Raps are going nowhere fast so they might as well blow it up and start from scratch. I just can't beleive the Blazers would want these 2 stiffs because they ain't worth

This trade for the Raptors is beneficial because it's addition by subtraction.

The Real GM FA list is wrong because I just rememered Big Z and Redd are also FA's after this season.

Oh boy imagine if the Raps pulled the deal off, cleared cap space and signed Redd....... that would make me real happy.

I hope not, the Bucks already lost Ray Allen who is one of the best shooters in the nba, if you lose Redd also that would be bad. He is another Ray Ray type player. How they drafted Robert Traylor over Dirk Nowitski still baffles me.

You're not serious right? SAR isnt in Carter's league (when it comes to ticket sales, merchandising, and all that) and hes certainly not a better player. Noone is going to rush out to buy Raptor tickets because 'Reef's in town and noone is going to rush out to buy Shareefs raptor jersey. I'd be hesitant to say that he's better then Rose also atleast Jalen can play 3 positions
