I think the Lakers should hold what they have and try to get Kawhi outright next offseason. Golden State has this in the bag this year. I think the Lakers lineup now, plus Kawhi next year could defensively disrupt Golden State some. Throw Kawhi and Ingram at KD. Lonzo is 6'6" so he could bother Curry. LeBron could lock down a shooter like Klay or Draymond. You ain't outscoring those guys, may as well go the defensive route with efficient offensive capabilities.

I think Kawhi has seriously damaged his reputation and the injury thing is such a red flag. I don't know. At this point. I'm not sure Kawhi is really a big get on my list if I'm a team. But I do agree the Lakers should just hold on to their assets.

Paul George is a man obsessed with his own importance.

If I were the Lakers and it was meant to be I wouldn't trash my team just to get Kawhi.

He'll come for the right price or when he can.

Let the Spurs wallow in what they have going on.

That's another reason why I think it'd be good to wait. See exactly how he looks next year with San Antonio. If he isn't the same player then they can know that beforehand.

Yeah, anything can happen. But say for instance LA trades Ingram and some picks for Kawhi, that team ain't beating Golden State or even challenging them, imo. I like the length and defensive potential of Ingram, Kawhi, LeBron and Lonzo more than anything. Then you'd have the plus of Ingram, Kuz and Lonzo maturing their offensive games as well.

Not directed solely at you, but I'm so sick of hearing the LAkers have to trade for Kawhi because of what happened with PG. Because trading for Dwight Howard worked out swell didn't it?

Just because PG ended up extending with OKC does not mean that LA should overpay on Kawhi.

So just to be clear, NO offered Cousins a 2 year deal back in April, but we heard absolutely NOTHING about it, even though he was clearly pissed off about it and has NEVER been afraid of voicing his displeasure with something until today, July 3rd after he said he hadn't gotten any offers in free agency and that makes him a liar trying to get sympathy? The internet is too funny man.

So he tried to be slick and should have took the Pelicans offer because he's coming off injury even though two days ago missing out on Paul George was cool for the Lakers because they could just go get DeMarcus Cousins to pair with LeBron and Kawhi even though nobody was talking about paying him a reduced salary or a short term contract or anything less than a max deal. The season may as well not even be played and we need to institute a hard cap and change the CBA and all this other bull**** because he signed with the Warriors, but wanting a big contract is absurd because he's coming off injury? I can't with this stuff man lmao

It's all over the place. Just trying to explain to someone the whole situation lol.

I'm not going to lie though. 40 million for 2 years don't sounds that bad lol.

Couch GM’s... Magic and Pelinka have talked about patience and building from within ala GS, and they’ve seemed to stay the course. But expert analysts and us couch GM’s don’t seem to take into consideration the logistics and financials of team building. Lakers don’t HAVE to trade for Kawhi.. Magic doesn’t feel the need to or else he would’ve done it by now. All the speculation and rumors are coming from people outside the organization who assume Lakers need this or that to beat the Warriors.

Everybody needs this or that to beat the Warriors.

Christmas games should be a reward for teams having a great season. All guys know how special it is to be playing on Christmas. Why give it to abunch of guys who did nothing to earn it other than play for a big TV market?


Last time Bucks had Christmas game, Marques Johnson was on their team. Made East finals multiple times in the 80s, and had 1 great season during Ray Allen days, but none of that got them anything.

Hawks last had Christmas game during Dominique days. Never had any in the era right after despite winning 50+ multiple times, or even during this decade after they won 60 games.

Those are just some examples. But unfortunately, Lakers and Knicks as the worst teams in the NBA will draw more viewers than if the Bucks, Hawks, Grizzlies were top teams in their respective conference. And that's literally the only thing NBA even bothers with, is who draws more viewers. I guess people would rather watch big markets and bad basketball over smaller ones with good basketball.

I get that it could be done better or simply scheduled as a regular night of basketball. What I don't get is why it is a big deal for some of you. I guess because you guys have that cultural thing to sit down as a family and watch bball and you dont want to sit through some of theses forced and bad matchups. Obviously we don't care here since games are so late anyway and bball isn't as big. I mostly watch games alone on my bed lol. If it weren't for you pointing it out I woudnt ever have even noticed it was always the same teams playing on Christmas night.

I don't really care either. But it's still something to laugh over when bad teams get Christmas Day games.

And for maj, I think his position makes sense when there's essentially an entire country rooting for a team that has finished top three for the past couple years and still gets no Christmas love.

I personally don't care if the Raptors get a Christmas game, but if you're a Raptors fan, it's logical to complain why a good team doesn't get that sort of recognition.

This is the exact thinking that let PG slip through your fingers. Dont a assume that Kawhi is hellbent on going to the Lakers. Before you know it, he is re-signing with the team that traded for him, or the Clippers because he doesnt want to play with LeBron.

The ones who don't care are the ones who are probably just used to seeing their team on Christmas so it's nothing special. If you play year after year on it, it won't be as special. Or if your team isn't good, you won't care to see your team in one of those games.


For those select few who rarely if ever get to play on Christmas, those are the ones who want to see something different. Christmas day is basically the biggest day for games in the regular season in the NBA. Everyone is watching these games with friends and/or family, so it'd be nice on a big day like that to have your team involved for a change.

Philly now has 17 guys on the roster after the signings of Amir Johnson and bjelica. This doesn’t count 2nd round pick shake milton or the overseas guy that’s panting in summer league bolden. The 17 does include the non guaranteed contracts of TJ and Holmes both I think would make the roster
