Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
As many have said, teams can't be dumb enough to trade away key pieces for a possible one year rental

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
I just don't get this "Don't trade to the Lakers cause they'll get better!!!" argument that seems to be floating around.
That just sounds like you are playing not to lose instead of winning. If LA can provide you with the best pieces to improve now and into the future, why the hell would you not do that? "Because the Lakers will get LeBron" is just terrible reasoning. You do what you do to get better. Period.
It reminds me of this last time I was playing Monopoly. Lol...I had one monopoly already and had three railroads. My mom had random other pieces and the one railroad I needed. I asked to trade her the orange piece I had that would have given her her only monopoly and for her to give me the last railroad. She was adamant about saying no because "Then you would have all the railroads!" And I'm sitting there telling her you're not going to win with no monopolies playing with a bunch of random properties. But she REFUSED and would not give it up all because she was worried about ME getting better.
Moral of the story...you play to win...
She lost [emoji23]

Lakers feel the pressure right now, and the Spurs know it. So innocently spread the story that you really don't want to deal the Lakers hoping that the pressure to "win" the offseason forces them to give up more.
Moral of the story? Maybe the Spurs are playing a deeper game than monopoly.Comment

I’d much rather see a trade with Philadelphia or Boston.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Boston is out on Kawhi, have been for a week or so if not longer. The last time the Celtics and Spurs was at the draft. The Celtics package was based around Kyrie and picks not any of the other 18 combinations that have been mentioned by reporters and fans. The Spurs then countered with packages based around Brown/Tatum and Boston passed on those.

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
I wouldn't be surprised if reports of other teams engaging in talks is just more games being played by the Spurs. Maybe a giving up valuable assets makes sense if a team thinks he is the final piece to a championship, but there is not a team that you can add Leonard to that would be able to beat GS.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Based on what is being said, it probably is with Kawhi n Co supposedly putting it out there that he won't be signing with anyone except LA.

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Man there isn't no way the Spurs find something better than Ingram and Kuzma plus pieces and I'm not even sold on the idea that the Lakers would give up both of them. I don't think they would. Two guys capable of putting up 20 a night very soon, both of them are as far along offensively as Kawhi was in his 4th or so season in the league even though one is only a rookie and the other is only 20 years old. They can wait and get him for nothing, or they can keep both of those guys and swing for PG/Bron instead of Kawhi. Either way those two pieces, if they improve the way one would assume, are going to be better than just having Kawhi.Comment
