I'm torn on this a bit, I think for a large part the league is shifted towards basically position-less basketball. Most teams truly have a "front court" and a "back court" with a point-forward somewhere in the lineup, rather than just 5 specific roles. I think in many match-ups Kuzma, Bron, Beasley, will be ok against "bigs".. The problem I see is Portland is just a really big team. Nurk and Meyers are built like traditional centers, where Kuzma likely wouldn't have a huge issue eating minutes if that was someone like Tristan Thompson for example... When he gets shifted on to guys like Nurk it's a problem. Lakers need a back up center, even if its just to play the few minutes a game where it would be Kuz on Drummond or something.
Realistically speaking they could play 10 or less minutes a night and still have an impact in that regard. I still think they could have tried to keep Brook another year, or made offers for Noel or Len when the opportunity was there. As of now, I still think they should try to make a trade to Atlanta for Dedmon he seems to be exactly what they need especially after adding a decent 3 point shot to his game last year. Otherwise options are slim pickins. Maybe a Tyson Chandler buyout or something.
