One thing I don't think is gonna work is Kuzma at center. Except in very short stints against the right matchups I don't see it. I think it also messes up his entire game.
I'm torn on this a bit, I think for a large part the league is shifted towards basically position-less basketball. Most teams truly have a "front court" and a "back court" with a point-forward somewhere in the lineup, rather than just 5 specific roles. I think in many match-ups Kuzma, Bron, Beasley, will be ok against "bigs".. The problem I see is Portland is just a really big team. Nurk and Meyers are built like traditional centers, where Kuzma likely wouldn't have a huge issue eating minutes if that was someone like Tristan Thompson for example... When he gets shifted on to guys like Nurk it's a problem. Lakers need a back up center, even if its just to play the few minutes a game where it would be Kuz on Drummond or something.

Realistically speaking they could play 10 or less minutes a night and still have an impact in that regard. I still think they could have tried to keep Brook another year, or made offers for Noel or Len when the opportunity was there. As of now, I still think they should try to make a trade to Atlanta for Dedmon he seems to be exactly what they need especially after adding a decent 3 point shot to his game last year. Otherwise options are slim pickins. Maybe a Tyson Chandler buyout or something.

I haven't quite watched enough of him, but is Zubac not serviceable enough to give them 8-10 minutes?

I think he is but he could get really exposed on hedges/switches versus guards who can really shoot. He's pretty slow on his feets but he has moments when he shows he's a really capable rim protector.

To be fair, in reference to the 2015 Cavs, they only got better once they made their trades for Mozgod, JR, and Shump. I'm pretty sure those happened around when they were 19-20.

I honestly think everyone on this current squad will find a way to fit except Lance. I'm not sure he can have a clear/defined role that makes the team better.

Bron, Ingram, Kuzma, Hart, Ball, Rondo, McGee, KCP clearly fit and will have playing time. Beasley will make sense too, probably moreso in small ball roles.

Just don't see where Lance will fit since his strength is handling the ball and he can't shoot well consistently. Lance, Hart, Bron, Kuzma, Beasley maybe? Unless they really think slashing and attacking is gonna work more often than not, not sure how you could justify having Lance/Rondo or Lance/Ball on the floor at the same time?

Sign Lopez to address rebounding issues?

Yeah, that’s not who he is anymore and you can thank us for that. Not sure Len would help much with that either. But if it’s a case of just signing a big body for the sake of having a big body, then there’s plenty of options out there.

Lopez is a big dude who can rim protect and shoot threes. He was available for cheap, signing him seemed like a no brainer to me. Makes a lot more sense than going after Lance considering our roster.

Oh I thought you were talking about signing him for Rebounding issues.

Lakers will be fine. Lebron has so much talent and length around him it's crazy. Lakers dont have that many knockdown three point shooters. But they can probably make up for it in other ways.

They just gotta buy in defensively. Lebron has a hell of alot more scoring options then that trash cavs team. I liked what I saw.

Some big games tonight, I'm particularly interested in the Indy/Mil game. I think both of them are strong sleeper teams in the East this year. Obviously GS vs Utah and Boston vs Toronto will be great ones as well.

Kinda on the fence about what to expect from ol big dick Mitch this year. Now that teams more so know what to expect from him, I want to see something deeper in his game. Whether that be a better combo-guard/playmaker, or a better defender, better off the ball, or a better outside shooter, just want to see some growth. We know he's exciting, know he can score, just need to see that depth outside of high ppg, high usage, low efficiency.

Can focus my undivided on the Celtics (and the NBA as a whole) this weekend and Monday now that the Red Sox get a small break before the World Series starts Tuesday. Tried watching opening night on the iPad with the Red Sox game on the TV, but even with baseball’s slow pace, I was struggling to keep up with both at the same time. I dunno how some people do it.

Anyway, excited to see the Celtics young guys get a crack at Kawhi in Toronto. Should be a good game.

I never realized what a bad rebounder Lopez was until a few days ago. I was creating a draft class on 2K and was using his DNA as a template. I had to do a double take when I saw he's rebounding was in the low 60's.
