Kuz should be be a big trade chip, and pairing him with KCP+Beas+Lance would net them a good return if someone really wanted Kuz. Still leaving the window open to pursue a Klay, Kawhi, Middleton move this off-season. Maybe even Boogie if it’s a big they are after. Or two B level guys while keeping most of their core.
Kuz has an ease to his scoring, and can do it in a number of ways. He’s really built to be scoring focal point or high level 2nd option. Before LeBron going out ruined his +/- he was one of only 10 forwards in the league to average 17,6,2 with a positive +/-.
For the Lakers though, and especially if they are going to keep using Ingram more in their offense, might be more beneficial for them to have a player who scores a bit less, but offers a better combination of defense and maybe passing ability. I like Kuz’s scoring mentality, but his first instinct is always to put the ball on the floor, which isn’t always beneficial to the other Lakers on the floor. And he’s really not consistent enough for them to just give free rein like that. Not while trying to make a playoff push.
