Jeebs just casually puts “Nik” like there isn’t 19 different “Niks” in the league, and then acts like it’s some exciting move so I’m spending 20 minutes trying to figure out what good player named “Nik” that’s actually going to see any minutes for the Rockets went to them. Smh [emoji23]

For those who didn’t see, the Cavs received Nik Stauskas and Wade Baldwin in the Rodney Hood grade, both are headed to Houston..

Side note - I could have sworn there was a rule that newly acquired players couldn’t be traded as part of a package with another player? Am I just making **** up or is that something that just doesn’t matter on the deadline or if it’s 3 teams or what?

If Otto Porter wins then even one more game than Portis and Jabari would have, it’s a bad deal. Not to mention you’re trading away Portis because he’s due to get paid this summer, but he’s basically gonna get Porter money so it’s essentially trading for the same money they didn’t want to pay this summer.

It's a weird move. Porter's contract isn't a big deal given CHI's situation but man, why throw off your rebuild like that?

LaVine, Porter, Lauri's Year-3 jump, Carter. Y'all are a decent PG away from locking up the 9th seed next year.

I believe they're separated into another small deal and it's technically not one trade. Or maybe it is all still one trade as long is at meets the 1:1 player match up...

Say Recently Traded Bulls Player X and Suns Player Y both make $5M, they can be traded. What you can't do is take Bulls Player X making $5M and package him with another guy making $10M to trade for a guy making $15M. So as long as one other player in the "package deal" matches up 1:1 with the recently traded guy they can be flipped.

As much as I hate Dan Gilbert for running off a **** ton of superstars, the dude opens his pocketbook for damn near anything.

Taking on Knight and Chriss for a 20ish pick is a great move, especially when Burks was going to be a free agent anyway.

Not sure what the Rockets were doing in this trade. Burks should have been going to Houston, Iman doesn't fit what they want at all, IMO.

As for the Bulls....woof. Is it worth passing on a shot for Zion and being just a meh team? As it stands right now, that team, when healthy, is probably somewhere between a 7 seed and a 12 seed in the EC and not much hope of ever getting better than that, IMO.

I hope they get a good piece for Robin Lopez.

Shams reporting the Mavs are finalizing a deal to send Harrison Barnes to the Kings.

Then Woj comes through and drops the Mavs are sending Barnes to the Kings for Justin Jackson and Zach Randolph.

Good secondary move for Dallas after taking on Hardaway's contract. I can't stand Barnes's game but I guess he's a better fit for the Kings than Gallo would be. I really hope the Kings sneak in and get the 8th seed.
