Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
Woj on Klay Thompson:
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN while speaking on Sportscenter,*Thompsonmight find himself on the outside looking in on Golden State’s cap plans, and could really consider joining the team his dad played for if the Warriors get cute and don’t offer him the full max right away:
“The best-case scenario for the Lakers is that they add*Anthony Davis*and then Golden State doesn’t offer*Klay Thompson*a max contract. They try to get Klay to take a little bit less than the max. And if that happens, I’m told Klay’s attention will be on the Lakers if they have*Anthony Davis.”
Woj was clear that Golden State wants to retain*Thompson, but do have a few mouths to feed between him,*Draymond Green*and*Kevin Durant’s impending free agency. Of all the*Warriors,*Thompson*has always seemed like the most comfortable in his role, but these things change, as evidenced by Woj’s reportComment

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
If something like that were to happen I wonder what the plans for filling out the rest of the roster would be.. Having a big 3 plus a weak 9 (now would be 10) was sometimes difficult to watch with that Miami squad. Now if they are able to retain Hart and Kuz since their deals are so cheap that's a different story, even more so if any of JaVale, Rondo, Lance hang around for the minimum.
But even with LeBron, Klay, Davis if the rest of the roster is very weak that might not even be enough to get to the finals in the West.Comment

That's how I am as well... and that's what scares me about Kyrie. I know that he promised to re-sign but he told a group of kids in Cleveland that he wouldn't leave. So yeah, I'm not going to be comfortable until the ink is dry.
If LA or NY get AD, plus they have room for a third star... that's scary to me. I'm sure that's awfully tempting for other star players, especially if Golden State loses two or more of their All-Stars.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
We'll have a deeper analysis later in the week, but back-of-envelope, our CARMELO projections would have a team with LeBron, Anthony Davis, Josh Hart & 9 replacement level-players as about a 54-win team. Maybe this really is a case where it's worth gutting the roster to do it.********

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
OddsShark:
Updated odds for what team Anthony Davis will be on for the first game of the 2019-2020 NBA regular season (BetOnline):
Celtics +150
Raptors +300
Lakers +300
Pelicans +500
They have no 1st, and best offer they can do would be something like JV,Siakam and others. A deal I wouldn't make for a rental player.Comment

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
So for the Lakers fans, which option would you prefer.
1.) Lakers keep everyone and for sure land a big fish this off-season. Kawhi, Klay, Jimmy, Kyrie, Kemba someone.
2.) They trade for AD now and use the extra money to fill out their roster with some decent players/vets but only retain a small portion of their young core.Comment

OddsShark:
Celtics we know can't get Davis unless they trade Kyrie (or get Davis after Kyrie is gone), Lakers we know what it's likely gonna cost, but I see less way Raptors get Davis than I did for Kawhi.
