Why can't you? That's literally the whole point in what I'm saying. He had a better year 2 at 20 years old than Jimmy did year 3 at 24 years old. You can easily factor in age and say he's ahead of them, that's the point of my argument. Nobody cares how two players look as rookies if one just turned 19 and one is 22. In terms of potential growth the young player has more room to grow, and a head start. Why would we just ignore that? IDK what you're trying to argue here.

I really can't see how you don't see the problem with what you're trying to argue. Ingram got a 2 year head start on NBA development compared to the two of them in question because they started their careers at 22. However in the same time frame of NBA development (3 years) they have grown as much or further than he has. We can't just look at where they're at at 22 years old because it's not an accurate representation of NBA development time.Comment

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
What the lakers don't need right now is to make stupid trades 10 games into the season. I hope the LBJ signing doesn't turn out like that. Getting rid of Walton would be a huge mistake too. He's a good coach, I hope he stays here for a long time.Comment

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
Chandler is exactly what they needed. Last night was an underrated win, the defense was better, the Twolves were just hitting ridiculous shots. They made 20 3s and still lost.

Sources: Philadelphia's Jerryd Bayless has also been traded to Minnesota as part of Jimmy Butler deal. Covington/Saric/Bayless/2022 2nd for Butler and Patton. https://t.co/qSvFzjG5BU
Maybe now Butler will take the season seriously and STFU.

Butler to the Sixers... out of left field.
Thibs caught wind of Jimmy complaining about playing 40+ minutes a game and felt betrayed lmao

Pretty decent haul for Minnesota. Interested to see how Butler meshes with the guys in Philly. Gonna need to add a shooter or two after the trade.Comment

Well reportedly after the Wolves lost to the Kings last night to go 0-5 on their road trip, Thibs finally concluded that the team couldn't win with Butler in a "dysfunctional environment"
Like.. it took you that long to come to that realization? I feel like anybody could see this coming a mile away.

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
I’m kinda on the fence with this trade. For the Sixers they needed a guy like Jimmy who can score in the half court late in games because literally all they have is Embiid. But they also got worse losing shooters and depth when they lost Bells and Ilyasova, and now after this they may have hurt their depth and shooting even more.
For Minnesota they get a good return, Covington is a good type of player to replace Jimmy honestly. And they likely gain two starters. But is this better than some of the other rumors? The 4 first round picks? Just the trade value and flexibility you have years moving forward with 4 firsts would be massive.
They are talking now on NBA radio that they could move Fultz and open even another max spot. Thinking that this trade might be opening up another trade down the line.

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
Covington will do well in Minnesota and I’m surprised Saric got moved because he was one of the big pieces during the original process. Huge amount of faith shown in Fultz here and could see Simmons move up to the four for a prolonged stretch.Comment
