I could live with this. I expect that we've at least called New Orleans, but unless they want more established players rather than prospects, I don't see any way he ends up in Milwaukee.
I'd bet on the Lakers if a trade is going to go down this week, but I do kinda think a darkhorse team will come out of nowhere and at least make a pursuit of it. If New Orleans prefers established guys, I think teams like Portland and Washington should at least give them a call. I don't think Washington has enough to get him even if New Orleans loved Beal, but if for example they like McCollum a lot, Portland has enough young prospects and all of their future picks that I think they could give New Orleans something to think about (again, assuming that the Pelicans would prefer an established guy rather than going super young and rebuilding completely).
The fact that he has 1.5 years left on his deal makes it more likely that someone gambles on him IMO because if they trade for him now and finish the year feeling like they haven't made progress in convincing him to stay, they can potentially flip him to the Lakers, Celtics, or Knicks and recoup a decent amount of the costs.
