Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
It's obviously a big risk because if AD or Bron goes down, it's all over. But with those two on the same team, that's a scary PnR combo and you know they'll find a way to surround themselves with vets. Maybe not this year but next year for sure.

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
Once Magic took over, being patient was out the window, despite what might have been said publicly. Add LeBron to the mix and going "All In" was going to be the new Laker M.O. The only way that wasn't going to happen would have been if no one had gotten injured and the team had a record like the Bucks or Nuggets.
It's not his personality, but if Magic wasn't so cocky with his "we're the Lakers" approach, I think that another star could have already been brought in, but now every team in the league has an "FU, give us your whole team" attitude in negotiations. There is a tariff because of the organizational arrogance.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
Nah you guys suck now because your FO is full of morons. You traded Kyrie when you didn't have to for a broken down player and you gave Kevin Love an awful contract that nobody will touch. And what young talent did you trade away? Dion Waiters? Andrew Wiggins? Anthony Bennett? I'm sure you'd love to still have those guys instead of your title, right? Lol you got a short memory man.
I...I...I literally just said our title is the only time that has worked because we’d never won.Comment

We were the fat and ugly dude who had no shot with any of the hot women.
Now, we dropped those pounds, work out everyday, dress game is on 100, got their own crib, money and fly *** car....and get friend zoned by the beautiful women(in this case, elite FA).
Knicks out here looking ugly *** Sam Cassell from back in the day and still getting the Beyonce's and the Kim K's of the world just because SMH.#RespectTheCultureComment

We'd probably still be looked over just because we play in the wrong arena, lol.
Yeah, I agree.
That Lebron effect is overrated. I mean it's not his name getting mentioned on these transaction reports since he's never been an official GM. Lebron doesn't have any pull with any teams, that's all fake news.
I don’t believe he or any teams top player has zero pull, but I don’t think he’s running to the owners office saying “trade this guy, keep this guy, fire this guy, hire this guy”.. his former GMs have said otherwise, former coaches have said otherwise, teammates said otherwise, and sorry for giving them more credit that random people on a basketball forum lol.

LeBron would control the ball of course, but I feel like he would be more than happy at this point to let AD be the first option on offense.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
Anthony Davis already floats around the 3 point line. Pretty much has every since he developed a shot/kept getting hurt. Regardless, LeBron hasn’t hindered Kuz/Ingrams shot at getting touches he sure isn’t going to take away Davis’s.

He’s pretty much already shown he could do that when he and Kyrie played together.

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
Miami always felt like it was never going to be long-term anyway but had Bosh/Wade not broken down, either LeBron wouldn't have left or Miami would've been still setup to compete (in the EC anyway). Can't really blame LeBron for that.
And Cleveland...that's all on the FO.
Not sure why people are trying to worry about the Lakers long-term future right now when maximizing LeBron's window is the right thing to do. That's why Magic signed him.
Who you think has a better shot at getting you titles, LeBron/AD with a bunch of vets that will inevitably surround them or Ball/Kuzma/Ingram and hoping for a big FA signing or two?
People are being too short-sighted because they're gutting the roster to get AD and that yes seals the coffin on their chances this season (which were extremely low anyway with a Boogie-infused GS) but they will re-tool in the offseason and have freakin LeBron and AD. Elite duos can win titles.Comment

But you go ahead and keep playing the Captain Literal role everytime someone says something negative about the dude. Been doing it this long so no need to change it up now.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
But most fans want to hang up another banner. That's how most would define success. A team that is competitive and in the "conversation" every year. And that's not going to happen now. And when LeBron leaves, the chances of that happening (given his history) will be extremely bleak for years if we ship away all our youth and give away future firsts on top of it.
I actually agree with you and prefer a rebuild as opposed to mortgaging the franchise for a temporary run.
But this is LA. They don't have time for all that. And all the boo-hooing about what happens when LeBron leaves like the Lakers will turn into the Cavs or Heat. That's not gonna happen.
If they get AD, best believe Dame rumors start popping up. At some point Westbrook's name will pop up. The Lakers will always be in the mix for the top players.Comment
