“They afforded him several perks of stardom, including assigning a security guard to his table during team charity functions and allowing him to occasionally fly separately from the team when he had outside commitments,” MacMullan adds. “Much like the Cleveland Cavaliers, who still aren’t clear on all the reasons why Irving soured on them, the Celtics remain puzzled about exactly how their prized player became so disenchanted so quickly.”

Plus the not signing balls by Kyrie.

Is that the one you guys are talking about?

Reporters, even respected ones, with agendas? Nooo.

but yeah, I fully expect to hear how Kyrie broke Gordon Haywards gaming PC on his way out in the coming weeks.

This is why I try not to doubt Zach Lowe. Even Lowe was a little short (if I'm recalling the podcast correctly).

And I think it's safe to say that in most cases agents know what they're doing when they tell their clients to opt out (Horford, Barnes, etc.).

                              What a weird report.

"Irving irked that young players went out after 2 am."
"Also, Irving didn't sign charity balls. It looks like the Celtics will focus on Walker."

That's a hit piece, for sure. The article has no sense of story. It's basically random tweets in paragraph form in order to create a new free agent story.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

My contenders would be Jeremy Lamb, Marcus Morris, and Kelly Oubre. One of them will get 3 or 4 years, $15-20 million per year IMO.

I think Al Horford might be up there too if he's truly going to get 4 years $110+ million.

I'm sure there will be someone that nobody really sees coming that gets a crazy offer, but I'd feel pretty bad about any of the contracts mentioned above
