Also Harden had a good shooting game for like the 3erd game in a row meaning he is most likely going to have like a 6-20 type of game either in game 6 or 7 if it gets to 7. Also even though Harden shoot good he was not aggressive enough towards the end needed to shoot the ball more in the 4th quarter.

Re: 2019 Western Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
It wasn't really looking at JUST here. I was just looking at all the basketball discussion spots on the net including here and I didn't see any mention about landing zones. I even saw a couple guys flat out said it was karma for "all the players GS has injured." So it was humorous to me that that was the exact type of closeout that we were having all kinds of arguments about here and other places online and now nobody wants to talk about that especially after the Rockets were JUST bitching about landing zones when HE was the one jumping into people. It was like the NBA's version of what's a catch for a bit there with the landing zone talk.Comment

My 2 cents (from a Dubs fan perspective):
Thank you Looney for playing like a big man...your offensive rebounds saved the day; you are the real "you rang."
Thank you Klay for shooting with confidence. But sometimes on defense in the 2nd half you...got tired?
Thank you Curry for surviving the Red Table Talk backlash and at least scoring in the 20s. I'll take it.
It looks like Durant actually slightly turned his ankle on his 2nd or 3rd step up the court after making that shot. In spite of Reggie crying wolf with the achilles, on the replay it looked like a very quick turn of the ankle.
I still feel like Kerr is not using his bench properly...Jerebko is like an Energizer Bunny man, you gotta give him more minutes, and sooner. And I still wanna see Bogut. But I guess the game is moving too fast for him?
Livingston continues to have butter fingers, fumbling bumbling and stumbling and falling waaay to often. We need him to be sharper.
Draymond and Iggy provide so much consistency...and they really set the defensive tone. Great Defense tonight.
Crazy ending...can't wait until Friday.Last edited by inkcil; 05-09-2019, 02:32 AM.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: 2019 Western Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
That contest I agree was just a normal one and had nothing to do with the play or KD getting hurt. The only reason I said something about it was because it looked like we had some talking going on in here, and also during the game Miller said something that is 100% true about how when KD, Thompson, Curry go down they dont get the calls. Yet when Harden does the same thing all of a sudden its a foul even when its 100% the same kind of contact, or lack of contact,or landing space, or what ever. There is no such thing has superstar calls just Harden calls.Comment

Re: 2019 Western Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
lol Yeah it would be kind of better to have say have one of those games be on sat of the 3 if necessary, and then have 2 on Sunday or something. So the two matchup's tomorrow if the team down 3-2 forces a game 7 why not have one of them play on Saturday or something? I want more basketball but at the same time I kind of hope teams close teams out in game 6 so there will be less games on like Sunday or something because I have to work Sunday and if there are 3 games I have to record I may not have time to watch them all and may have to wait for Monday to watch and known who won.Comment

Re: 2019 Western Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
but nah, Harden & Paul had to smell blood in the water and take this game smh. According to Kerr, Durant is out Game 6....Imagine having losing two Game 6's to teams who just lost their best player on your resume....
Hope Durant is OK. Clear non contact injury going up the floor...which is why it was scary and there was Achilles talk . Durant gave that look back like he was kicked. Initial reports sound a lot better.Last edited by The 24th Letter; 05-09-2019, 05:22 AM.Comment

Re: 2019 Western Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
I’m not seeing the aggression. I’m not seeing that same energy he usually brings. I’m not seeing that bulldog mentality like we all saw in last year’s WCF. Y’all remember when he did the Stephen Shimmy in Steph’s face last year?
And I’ve never seen a good shooter pass up so many good looks from 3 like he has. I think the Rockets make the extra pass almost better than any team in the league, but Paul is making unnecessary passes, passing out of good looks to players with more contested looks.
He’s playing like his wife is Ayesha.
Very strange.Last edited by legendkiller5; 05-09-2019, 08:54 AM.Rice Owls - Houston Astros/Dynamo/Rockets/Texans - Arsenal - PSGComment

Re: 2019 Western Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
Yeah I dont get why Jerebko is not getting any minutes. I think tonight was like the first time he has played this round, and it only happend because KD got hurt. Jerebko is one of the few solid bench players GS even has now, and can make some out side shoots to something GS has need with Curry and Thompson shooting being so bad this round. I get the whole wanting to play there 5 man lineup thing they dont use in regular season but I still think you could go big a little bit dont have to be a lot of minutes but its been like nothing but small ball this round. Bogut I agree should be playing to. Again he dont have to play big minutes but just giving him like 10 minutes could help, and in fact I am surprised that he has played has good has he has sense he came back to GS this year, because it had been so long sense he played I thought it was just like a pointless type of pick up. But sense they got him I think he has surprisingly been better then he was a few years ago when he was on the team. I agree about ever thing you said about the other players. I didn't see any kind of ankle thing with KD though maybe I missed it.
People down in our bench but man, it's still good. I remember when we lost to Cleveland how Kerr refused to bring in Barbosa in games 6 and 7 and I just couldn't understand why. We needed a spark, energy, hustle, a push, but he just wouldn't put him in the game. I just don't understand.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: 2019 Western Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
I can't speak on Jerebko. Haven't seen much of him this year to really comment.
But I don't see how anyone can push for Bogut getting more PT. The way the rockets operate on offense, the target would come off of Curry's back and go immediately to his.
Curry is quick enough to avoid the switch and get get back to his man most of the time when he's being "picked on". He's also a good enough defender (despite the narrative that he's not) that he can play solid defense on Harden or Paul when he does have to take on that task.
Bogut would be put on an island every time down the court leading to a bunch of open shots when Harden blows right by him. The Warriors defense would be in constant scramble mode trying to cover for Bogut who is too slow to try and cover Harden/CP3/Gordon and too slow to get back to his man to avoid the switch altogether.
Looney on the other hand does a solid job defensively when he's been switched on to Harden and has probably bothered Harden on his step back more than anyone else I've seen this series.Last edited by TMagic; 05-09-2019, 10:24 AM.Comment

Re: 2019 Western Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
I personally argue for Bogut as a fan, I admit. But basketball-wise, he is more than just a liability on pick and roll. He is great around the rim in general, can still defend the rim (especially when someone is trying to put up a quick offensive rebound), makes great passing decisions and really helps open up the floor for the Splash bros with his passing, brings toughness and grit to the game. He also has a little jump-float-hook and has a great nose for the ball. He brings lots of intangibles to the table. And if Durant is out Game 6, we need that 3rd interior defender to spell Draymond and Looney.
He brings way too much to the table to not give him 8-10 minutes.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"
