In all seriousness, I agree with Leon. What T-mac and Carter did was very low, and a lot of respect should have been lost for them. But the fact that T-mac is now actually trying to fix his mistakes and learning how to be better than the past shows that he is a better person. Now I'm not saying he should be let off the hook completely, but those who learn from their mistakes should be given another chance and should redeem a little of the respect that people had for them before.

I agree. McGrady has tried very hard to play within the system, and to defer to Yao...but again, how much of this "new" T-Mac's gameplan is simply to build an "unselfish" image? Personally, I don't think he has an agenda, and it seems like he's learned his lesson. If so, God bless the kid, because like Davis said, underneath it all he's a good guy. However, this whole thing completely obliterates the concept that the guy has in the past been driven by competitiveness. Doc Rivers said he didn't give max effort (talk about getting your coach fired), Johnny Davis also said this, and Weisbrod got rid of him because of it...but they all supposedly had agendas.

I think that T-Mac gets a pass because very few pundits or analysts tout T-Mac as the next MJ. Insiders know he doesn't have the heart to be the next NBA great, so no one puts that tag on him. I believe that tag builds resentment and unfair expectations, and T-Mac has never been subjected to that type of backlash.

Thats got to be it....because had this been other certain players in the league, this site would implode.

True. He seems like such an affable guy, you can't really stay mad at him...he's the type of guy you WANT to see do well. I've said it before, if T-Mac ever gets a GP type of teamate to push him, to stay in his ear... he could easily be the best player in the league.

He has done nada, but he is held as a superstar and look at his paycheck.

He is good but not worth the loot!

And not an elite player ( amongst the greats not todays nba)

He can average 30 if he wanted to (see Orlando, 2002-2003). True, he hasn't really achieved much but you can't deny that he's a superstar. As for paychecks, he actually deserves it unlike some players like Penny Hardaway & Allan Houston
