Nets going to be tough for anybody to beat when LeVert has it going.

What you think about him in that 6th man role?

KD looked good. Still think they are going to struggle defensively. but they'll outscore most teams.

Cs will be fine in the end but they are probably going to struggle in the regular season but as long as they get Kemba right towards what matters they'll be fine. Need to get TT back, and eventually Romeo as well to help the bench. it's probably not ideal they have 4 guys that are absolutely useless as roster spots in Carsen, Waters, Tako, Semi. also preseason is pretty much useless so i wouldn't read into much of anything of their struggles... I.e Carsen making every shot in preseason not too long ago haha.

Do you guys view Zion as a mvp candidate type of player in the future or more like an all star type of guy?

I’m not really sure what to think yet.

I think he looked great tonight, and I think most nights that’s probably a great role for him. I think he can come in and be expected to score, expected to play more like a lead guy if he’s in that 6th man role. I think it helps them rest KD and Kyrie a bit more, stagger some of those minutes.

But in theory I still think Dinwiddie is just the perfect 6th man for them. Can back up the 2, can back up Kyrie, he’s already comfortable and familiar with the 6th man role, etc.. I guess so long as they keep him on the floor often when Kyrie sits, or get a bit of backup playmaking from Shamet it doesn’t really matter though.

At the end of the day having a big scoring punch off the bench is a proven choice for a great 6th man. So Caris might thrive in that role. And on this team the 6th man role might be better for him if it means more touches/shots when he’s actually on the floor.

Either way I like the Nets depth. I hope they stick with something similar instead of moving a lot of these guys for a 3rd star. I think it’s almost comical that some people are surprised this team looks so good so early. Obviously guys needed to be healthy, but you’ve added KD and Kyrie to a team that’s a playoff team (and still improving) before they even got there. Everyone was hyping that Clippers depth before last season and I think all of LeVert, Dinwiddie, Harris are better than Lou or Trez yet it seems many haven’t bought in to these guys the way they have with some other teams “depth” the past couple of years.

Kuzmas like an 85 OVR with no badges.

Solid player, just can't do one thing exceedingly well.

85? 80? Some rating inflation from when I played I guess. Kuzma seems like a 71 guy to me. Are the best players in the game now 99's? Loved when only the very best players in the league got ratings in the 90's, with the best player having maybe a 92 and only the guys in the All-Time teams having 95+

I'd like to see Kuzma get a chance on another team. He's a good player. He's just in the wrong situation. Look how Ingram blew up when he left L.A. That's not a easy place for a young player to grow.

I don't know if Kuz can blow up like Ingram. But I could see him being a nice piece for some other team.

100%, it’s hard for him to get anything other than the occasional kick out shot when he shares the floor with both Bron and AD. He’s just not that type of player. His best fit position wise is the two positions they play. You see a lot of people say “well if he can’t look good next to them” but next to them is a really tough position to put him in. He always produces big for them when AD sat and he started, any night he played 30+ you’d check the box score and he filled it up just as people expected when he was touted the 3rd guy.

It’s just tough for him to get touches and get starter minutes on that team and he needs those to produce. I still think on another team he would be a 20+ a night guy. Similar to LaVine, Ingram, those types of players. Just maybe not quite that level. He’s never going to be a Klay Thompson where he can just seamlessly fit regardless of if he’s getting a few touches and dropping 10 points or a lot of them and dropping 40. Just not his game.

He made huge jumps in his game last year I thought trying to adapt to that role. More cuts looking for a quick easy basket, much improved defense, confidence in his catch and shoot 3 ball, and this year in preseason he’s doing a lot of little things and finding looks for other players. He could have easily hung his head and whined about not getting minutes/touches or demanded a trade, that’s what you see from most young guys. But he didn’t and worked on ways to help the team in other areas even though those were things he obviously wasn’t comfortable with. Nobody gave him any sort of credit for that stuff either.

Watching some of these Pelicans games these guys have gotten so many good shots coming off of screens from Adams. Underrated part of his game, he’s going to make things easy for them.
