    Re: Training Camp/Preseason Discussion Thread

If no moves are made for harden then yea Philly's defense should be one of the best in the league. That trade makes some sense if you get stuck at the deadline or even the next offseason. I don't see anyone else trading for Love during the year as Cavs don't appear to want to just give him away. Cavs can sell the move as getting younger and shouldn't have to give up a 1st.

I guess I'm higher on Harris then the most while he is overpaid he is still good player. I think a lot of people are quick to say overpaid people aren't any good and they become under rated because of that. I think removing Al is good for him allows him to play the 4 and the spacing is a lot better on this team. He is also rejoined with Doc. Last year he averaged 19.6 a game on 37% from 3 I think he will do a little better then that this year.

With Joel, Ben, Green in the starting lineup and Maxey, Matisse, Scott, and Howard on the second unit, we should be an excellent defensive team. In previous seasons, there was always a big drop-off defensively once Embiid was off the court. That's not going to happen with Howard here. Even if shots aren't falling, our defense is good enough to win games.

I'm still willing to trade Tobias though. I just want Ben to be more aggressive. It's obvious that Joel is the clear #1. Ben tends to hit the switch once Joel leaves the court. We need him to keep that on switch on at all times. But for Tobias to be useful, he needs to be treated as the #2. I rather get someone similar who is a more consistent shooter who gives us more cap flexibility. I want to package Tobias, Matisse, and Furkan. I was originally against trading Matisse. But I rather Maxey get more minutes. Just to throw out a random trade, I would do a Tobias, Matisse, and Furkan for a Kevin Love and Osman. We would get a stretch 4 who can rebound and a backup SF.

I do find it odd that Kyle O'Quinn still isn't signed. I thought we played well with us last year. I just thought Horford being there limited his minutes.

This seems like Miami knowing they don't have much to offer and just seeing if they can get him on sale. The Miami offer of expiring contracts, solid young players and multiple draft picks might work if Houston still had their own 1st round pick. If you take that offer your picking in the top 10 and you lose the pick. If they could tank for 1 year then I would consider that option just not know. Also I believe Duncan is a RFA at the end of the year.

I can understand both sides wanting Duncan.. Houston obviously wants more young talent in return, and shooting, and Miami obviously wants to keep shooting on the roster as Nunn, Harden, Jimmy, Bam would be mediocre at best from deep.

I would just like to see Ben take that "next step". He only has 5 career 30 point games. He isn't going to be like his young counterparts where you could expect a 40+pt game. Heck, i still think 30 point games are rare for him just because of his playstyle. I wonder with those five 30 point games, how many of them were Embiid out or in foul trouble. I would just like to see Embiid and Simmons hot at the same time. I don't consider them a dynamic duo. I would like to see Ben bump his scoring average over 20 ppg.

I like Tobias it is just that he is overpaid. If he can get back to that 2018-19 Clippers version, I would take that as a win. Where he averaged 20+ppg and 8 rebs on near 50% FG, 43% from 3pt, and near 88% from FT. That's the goal for him. Ideally, if we can average near 70ppg from Joel, Ben, and Tobias combined and be a top 3-5 defensive team, we can win a lot of games because I believe we can get 30-50 points from our remaining 7 guys in the rotation.

No way Miami trades their young pieces for Harden. He doesn't fit that culture. I sincerely doubt Jimmy and him would get along. They were just in the Finals. No reason to mess with that.

Pack, would you rather have KD and Kyrie or would you rather have had the underdog culture? 24, would you rather have culture and let Timmy walk to Orlando or you letting his family on the team plane? Would the Warriors rather have placated KD or are they good with culture and possibly a closed window?

I just think the whole Heat culture thing is super overrated.

Say what you want about Melo. But he's always fun to watch. Got that vintage middy in peak form I see already.

More fuel to throw on the fire over Harden and Houston. Melo been living his best life since he left there.

The culture might be overrated. But the chemistry isn't. Herro Bam and Butler should be pretty untouchable. They are like brothers. Not to mention the style Miami plays. Harden doesn't fit that. There's very little iso in Miami's playbook. They keep it moving.

It's not gonna happen anyway. So it's probably not worth discussing. But if I'm Pat Riley. I love where my team is. I love how I've drafted. I'm excited about a healthy Dragic and Precious added to the fold. I'm ready to go with the team I've got.

                  Harden ain't worth it anyway.

Nash says he’ll be playing as close to a regular season rotation tonight as far as minutes go.

Also LeVert will be playing tonight as well.

Ask me this in 3 years.

I do know that for US, culture played a big part in where we’re at right now, especially considering what we’ve gone thru over the last 6-7 years as far as Basketball decisions go.

When has Ben ever been the first option on that team?
