    Re: Training Camp/Preseason Discussion Thread

I'm just hoping we stay as is and resist that trade. I'm more concerned about long term. It's a win now only move. Where either way, it can get ugly real quick after 2 years. Even if Harden resigns (which is likely), how long is he going to remain in his prime. As much as I like Joel's potential, I see a drop off once he gets in his 30s. I see either Shake or Maxey going in the deal as well(almost have to keep Maxey just as a tradable assst). So with giving up multiple firsts, Ben, either Maxey/Matisse/Shake, it becomes a championship or bust situation with Harden and Joel. But, I don't like Harden being out of shape and needing close to a month or so into the season to get back into shape.

"In response, 76ers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey tells @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium: “We are not trading Ben Simmons — he is an important part of our future.”

I’ve not done the math but what’s a trade look like where Ben and Harris go to Houston ? I still wouldn’t do it but it’s probably possible if Gordon or Tucker go to Philly.

I know the trade recently happened, but I still forgot Westbrook is on the Wizards.

I see a shot of him on the bench in street clothes talking to a player, then I see that player is wearing Wizards gear and I got confused for a split second.

It's too much money on Philly’s side. Just going off cap numbers, combined is about 65 mill for Ben and Harris. Lol you could probably do Harden, Gordon, and Tucker and the numbers might work. I wouldn't do it though. I wouldn't mind getting Tucker in the deal though.

What does a potential Miami trade package look like for Harden?
I have a few ideas for Philly and Nets(don't see it as tempting). But outside of Herro and Robinson, you're just putting other contracts together to make the money work. I don't see Harden fitting that "Heat Culture" and not sure the fit.

What is the "ceiling" for Herro?

Iggy and olynyk for $ reasons so that’s like 27 million expiring.

Then you have herro, Duncan Robinson, Nunn and some 1st round picks. Unless this plays out until they can trade the guy they just drafted.

Miami as a possible destination is short circuiting my brain, but if I'm Houston, Bam and Herro are a must or no deal.

                      Re: Training Camp/Preseason Discussion Thread

One reason I want to remain as constructed is because we have a legit shot at being a top 3-5 defense. It is almost no excuse why we shouldn't. With Joel, Ben, Green in the starting lineup and Maxey, Matisse, Scott, and Howard on the second unit, we should be an excellent defensive team. In previous seasons, there was always a big drop-off defensively once Embiid was off the court. That's not going to happen with Howard here. Even if shots aren't falling, our defense is good enough to win games.

I'm still willing to trade Tobias though. I just want Ben to be more aggressive. It's obvious that Joel is the clear #1. Ben tends to hit the switch once Joel leaves the court. We need him to keep that on switch on at all times. But for Tobias to be useful, he needs to be treated as the #2. I rather get someone similar who is a more consistent shooter who gives us more cap flexibility. I want to package Tobias, Matisse, and Furkan. I was originally against trading Matisse. But I rather Maxey get more minutes. Just to throw out a random trade, I would do a Tobias, Matisse, and Furkan for a Kevin Love and Osman. We would get a stretch 4 who can rebound and a backup SF.

I do find it odd that Kyle O'Quinn still isn't signed. I thought we played well with us last year. I just thought Horford being there limited his minutes.

Denver has alot of weapons. Good to see Barton back too. Gonna be a very tough out again especially if MPJ takes that next step.

Not a chance I would even consider trading Bam for Harden.

I’m assuming the lack of star power offers Houston is likely getting that Herro would be a competitive offer and maybe the only player who’s been that good and that young. I don’t think any team is going to give up even remotely close to equal value or their future for Harden. Ben is likely the best talent, Herro and picks likely the best young pieces.

I think you have to do that if your Miami and feel at all comfortable that you can get Harden to buy in to your culture. You’d have to be assuming Herro was going to turn in to Booker or something to not want to make that move at that point.

I can understand both sides wanting Duncan.. Houston obviously wants more young talent in return, and shooting, and Miami obviously wants to keep shooting on the roster as Nunn, Harden, Jimmy, Bam would be mediocre at best from deep.

I mean, Houston can and should ask for everything but if they ask for Bam and Herro I calmly start laughing and hang up the phone.

Herro, Robinson, unprotected 1's till the eye can see, pick swaps and filler is the best offer I make if I'm the Heat.

It's funny this is exactly the step I expected Lonzo to make with his finishing at the rim. But man Melo has got it. My problem with Lonzo is him settling way too much for my taste. He shouldn't take more than 5 three pointers a game (attack the run!). Their pace is kind of different too.
