Re: Training Camp/Preseason Discussion Thread
If you’re going that route you almost have to have a player like AD, KG, even Bron or Giannis who is comfortable catching the ball on that high post area where the zone is vulnerable and is a threat to both score and pass. Without that you’re almost ****ed lol.

Been hearing a lot about him for a while but haven't paid attention to him too much. I noticed in their last game that he was really, really strong.Comment

Re: Training Camp/Preseason Discussion Thread
What’s funny about THT is I remember seeing him in some of those HS mixtapes awhile back and thinking “who is that funny built dude who looks like he’s 30?”.. didn’t even register that’s who it was until someone shared a HS highlight clip of his last year lol.
He’s a solid player, not sure he’s good enough at any one thing to the point that I would say he’s going to be “special” but he’s obviously got a high IQ and he plays hard. If he can come in and do the same stuff we saw from Caruso the the Lakers depth goes from what many were calling a weakness last year to one of the best this year.
His skill set and build is a very unique mixture though. He’s nearly interchangeable 1-4 position wise and his body type reminds me of someone like Charles Barkley, he’s not quite that thick/strong but he has that wider base with disproportionate arms relative to his height/shoulder width the same way Barkley did.
You could say this about any young player coming into the league trying to get minutes on a playoff team, but if he can play solid defense and knock down his open outside shots he’s got a chance to get a lot of minutes.
I guess another question to ask is, if THT starts getting minutes, and the Lakers brought back Morris, can likely play Mathews down a spot when needed, and they are rumored to be looking at Ariza, does that mean Kuzma is gone at the deadline?

Re: Training Camp/Preseason Discussion Thread
I think teams might be smart to make Gasol show that he can still score on his man one on one in the paint consistently. If they just automatically give help when he's down low it will be open looks galore.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Training Camp/Preseason Discussion Thread
I think THT can fill Avery Bradley's role. I expect Caruso to get more of the minutes and the closing minutes but there can be room for THT. Kieff will probably be played situationally, as good as Gasol is, I bet he's a 15-20 MPG guy.Comment

Re: Training Camp/Preseason Discussion Thread
Yep, although I think we will see lots of Marc playing out away from the paint. Screen and pop and let him make entry passes into AD/Bron. He was great at that with ZBo and is probably their best option to be the guy setting high screens even though he’s not mobile enough to really be a rim runner. I think having him vs a guy like JaVale or Dwight really opens the paint up more for AD and Bron.

Re: Training Camp/Preseason Discussion Thread
What's amazing and encouraging to see is the Lakers can freaking score and run solid offense without both LeBron AND AD on the floor. I know it's preseason but this is very encouraging. Last year at least one had to be on the floor at all times otherwise the offense stalled. Doesn't look like that's a problem anymore and you could argue if Harrell and Schroder both come off the bench that they might have the best bench in the league now.Comment

I still get so aggravated watching Ibaka play because he could/should be so much better than he is.

Yeah I don't see how THT isn't apart of the rotation. His foul-drawing ability is really good already. Looks to be a good three-point shooter. And he's playing the PG position. Lakers now have 2 PGs (Schroder) that can attack the paint and threaten to score.Comment
