    Spurs sign Keith Bates Diop.

He was a monster on my MyTeam, lol

    Not sure about reality.

"Boston has signed and traded Gordon Hayward and two future second-round picks to Charlotte for a conditional future second-round pick. Celtics also receive a trade exception."
"The Celtics and Hornets announce a sign and trade for Gordon Hayward. Boston gives up two seconds and gets back a conditional future second. Boston gets a massive exception of around $30 million - one of the biggest in NBA history - and can potentially add to its roster."

Do they still go after Turner after it was said they didn’t particularly love his contract, or maybe now they go after someone like Aaron Gordon.

They should definitely be going after Turner, IMO, who is a better fit for what they need & their roster, but Ainge always tries to play hardball when negotiating.

Although, his contract does give me pause with him making a ton ($17.5 million per) to be a defensive, role playing big man that is average offensively and on the glass.

Turner is a huge upgrade defensively over Robert Williams (who needs to play more) & Daniel Theis, though.

All true but they've already added Thompson.

Love this move, really low risk with a possibility of him still being worth a damn when back on a good team. You never know, he looks "done" but he's only 31.

Well, Turner is better than him too but you make a good point.

He's definitely better than him if you're looking for defense and overall upside, but Thompson is solid on that end and with Smart, Brown, Tatum, perhaps rebounding and pick and roll play was their focus. Perhaps playoff experience as well.

Maybe at shooting threes but that's about it. TT is better at setting screens, team defense, a much better rebounder and comes at half the price. Heck, TT, Theis, and Timelord all together still cost less than Turner.

Yeah, going after Turner makes no sense financially. Investing that kind of money in anything below a top level big is something I would rather they avoid. Poor use of resources and cap space.

What I would like to see them do (stole this from all someone else) is call OKC on Hill and Ariza now that the trade exception came through.

Not a horrible idea but don't you think you could do better than Ariza and Hill with 30 mil?

I'm glad the Hayward stuff if finally settled

I'd love to have one more shooter... mainly Korver. However, if I'm the Ainge/Brad I go into the season letting Grant William's, Nesmith and Langford all play big minutes so you can really see what you have with them.

A couple of months into the season they should know if the youngsters can be depended on or not. And more importantly the non-playoff teams may be looking to dump players then so the TPE will be more valuable then than it is now.

If that doesn't work out then there will be a team that won't want to lose a FA for nothing next offseason or a team that will want to dump a player to make room for another so so there should be plenty of opportunities then.
                            .

Did I read correctly that the Hornets signed Hayward to a 4 year 120 million dollar deal?

Some teams are just intent on being perennial bottom feeders smh

If you consider that they had to waive and stretch Batum in order to sign Hayward, then you can add another $9 mil (in dead money) to that for the next three seasons.
