Mavs vs Suns and I'll be there tonight.

I've waited for this game for about two weeks. It's sold out and the Mavs and Suns are both gearing up for the stretch run. I can't waite this should be very entertaining especially with Dirk and Steve Nash meeting up again. As a huge Mavs fan Stevie I really enjoyed what you did for the franchise but you our now a enemy tonight and I'll be screaming all night at you.

The Mavs will be shortahnded without Damps, Stack and Marquise Daniels so this really isn't a good barometer as to how they might fair if these two teams get together in the playoffs. However, at full strength I believe the Mavs are the second best team out west behind the Spurs not the Sonics or Suns. Good job by TNT to take us into the All-Star break with these two teams being showcased.

As for a side note that idiot Charles Barkley who loves to hate the Mavs actually cam out this week and bashed Dirk saying he's not in Garnett or Dunacan's class because Dirk only scores and doesn't defend or do anything else to help his team win. I was like wtf is Barkley smoking?

He obviously hasn't evaluated Dirks game this year. The guy is second overll behind KG in defensive rebounding per game 8.7 and he renaks in the top 20 in both steals and blocks. He's scoring at a 27.0 clip and Dirk is arguably a top 5 MVP candidate. Barkley has always hated the Mavs but his latest debate is as crazy as saying Dallas would be lucky to make the playoffs this past summer we he shout off his phat mouth.

I'm excited for this game like I normally am between two Western Conference powers. Should be a whole lot of fun, and I want Dallas to come out and win. I still think people sleep on them, and they are better than people think this year.

this game seemed to have a playoff game atmosphere.

Dallas pulls it out. great win by the Mavs. They went 4-0 on their most difficult road trip of the year (Seattle, Sacramento, GS, and Pheonix)

First off ley me say I don't care what anyone thinks the Mavs are San Antonio's most feared matchup especially if they are healthy with all 12 players. This game was off the chains and Dallas just hung around all night then just like against Seattle and SacTown they stepped up big in the 4th qtr defensively to pull away.

I saw the bench going crazy after Finley hit those huge three's and what ups with Booth....this guy looked like he was pissed off when he went into the game and took it to Amare's Azz. I just don't know what to say about the Mavs right now I'm so damn happy and this team gets no respect but hey thats cool come playoff time they will shut up everyone. I got an autograph from Henderson and Armstrong before the game. You could see Nash and Dirk chillin and talking smack during warmups and Finley gave Nash a hug but after that it was like ok now let beat his azz. Mark Cuban was damn hype all game long this guy has so much passion for the Mavs. I couldn't think of a better owner for this team.

The game was awesome Phoenix tried to run Dallas out the gym but Nellie threw a zone at them to keep his guy's fresh and the bench for Dallas Harris, Booth, Armstrong and Bradley all played solid and played their roles very well. Finally how about Josh Howard....this kid is very underated and if Dallas didn't have so many weapons this guy is capable of being a big time scorer, rebounder and defensive player. What a late round steal by Dallas.

Like I said this team is better than both Phoenix and Seattle because they have a more complete team and they play better 4th qtr defense than the other two. Dallas knows that they can score with anyone but they have learned their lessen over the last 4 years that you have to make defensive stops and execute in the half court sets down the stretch come playoff time. Thats what Seattle, Phoenix and SacTown will find out come playoff time. Dallas let each one of those teams launch three's in the 4th qtr while the Mavs focused on attacking the rim and getting to the line. They came from behind in the 4th qtr to beat everyone of those teams on this 4 game road trip using the same formula.

I agree with you, and after the AS Break we should have more games like this on TNT with the playoff atmosphere. March Madness is great, but I like April May and June NBA Playoff basketball.

What Dallas is doing doesn't surprise me. They had to adjust 8 new players to their team this year and adjust to playing with 3 new PG's and a true Center. It took them until about January to jell but now they are rolling. They still haven't had Daniels most of the year and once Stack and Damps get back hopefully healthy for good they will only mesh better.

Good win for the Mavs. It looks like they're on a roll right now. Too bad they had to take a break for all-star weekend.

I saw an interesting stat on the Suns while I was watching the game on TNT. I don't remember what they were exactly, and maybe someone could help me out. Basically what it said was that the Suns were last in giving up PPG, last in Offensive boards, last in a bunch of other stats that related to defense.

I have high hopes for the Suns cause they're so damn fun to watch, but they need to play some D.

Even Dallas is playing better D this year. I wonder if it's Nash that made them so bad all those years in Dallas. Hmmmmmm. . .???
