Re: Webber to the Sixers
I am really excited. I apologize to Billy King. Since he took over as full time GM two years ago, he's had two very nice drafts and just made a blockbuster trade to make us Eastern Conference contenders. Not saying we're even getting to the conference finals, but I think this gives us a team to be reckoned with in the second round of the playoffs. And that is what I wanted out of this team since 2001. Now we finally got that. A team to be reckoned with,
What's also beautiful about this is that Webber isn't selfish and will work well with Iverson. Webber can be the main guy, but this will be the first time, if I recall, where C-Webb will be with someone who many consider to be more of a star player. Golden State, Washington, Sacramento...they all had good players, but none that you could really say were better or much better than him. Iverson is different. I don't even have to explain this. So this works best for both guys. AI can still be the main man and C-Webb can be the back-up man.
We still have Korver. NICE. Iggy. NICE. Sammy D. NICE.
NOW....Dalembert could be gone by the deadline, still. Who knows, but it sounds like King isn't done...and I love that!. Sounds liek the Big Dog for Mash and Rodgers will be done. We get Rodgers for the rest of this year. That would be nice. Then he's an FA. And Mash isn't going to play and will be off the books next year. But there could be other thigns in the works, so let's see.
I still think we need more legit pieces for this team, but for now, I'm liking it! Definitely excited.Comment

I have to see to believe. AI and C Webb sounds like a winner, but let me see it in action.Comment

Re: Webber to the Sixers
I don't understand why Sixer fans and the Sixer organization would ever consider trading Dalembert. I haven't seen that much of him, but looking at the box scores, he looks like a pretty good young big man to have. And I don't think his contract is anything expensive at all.Comment

Us Sixer fans love Dalembert being here. And apparently, so does Billy King, unless the perfect deal came along. Jim O'Brien wants to trade him though.Comment

Oh ok. I would gladly give up Jason Collins, and a few naked pictures of Kidd's wife for Dalembert. Hell, I'd even throw in VC's old hospital gowns, though I should probably hold onto one.Comment

Re: Webber to the Sixers
Let's not go jumping off a bridge Kings fans. I'm as shocked as any to see Webber go, but in Petrie's mind this was for the best, and we're talking about a guy that doesn't make dumb moves. Don't be surprised if he has something else up his sleave.Comment

Key point anyway is that he doesn't have to hit the big shots. AI will do that. His being on the court means no more triple teams for AI...this is huge for Philly.Last edited by Court_vision; 02-24-2005, 02:52 AM.Comment
