I won't go down this road cause we have been down it enough for 3 lifetimes by now. I will just say only 1 of those you have listed has been doing this for over a decade straight now and has a trail of bodies in their wake across multiple franchises (some more than once) of what we're talking about and you know that, but it's cool if you want to keep pretending like you don't.Comment

Re: 2021-22 NBA Trade Deadline
Actually shocking in my opinion. He's everything Thibbs wants in a player. He plays defense first off. Which would be an auto HUGE checkbox for him. But something else must be going on. Doesn't make sense.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Lol We don’t belong in that group if you look at our history over the last 10 years.#RespectTheCultureComment

My point was more so they did get a ring and pretty much 100% of teams would take that if it meant sucking for 3 years once that ride is over. Aside from all that, the Lakers could for sure be awful when he leaves but I think that has far more to do with AD than LeBron/trying to win now because of LeBron. If AD is healthy (lol) he will assumingly be smack dab in his prime and they open up 40 mil in cap room because LeBron expires they should in theory be able just keep competing.Comment

For the past 10 years no. For trying to go all in now which is what the Lakers are doing/future no-LeBron Lakers that we are currently discussing then yeah.Comment

Re: 2021-22 NBA Trade Deadline
I’m guessing this is the beginning of Thibs being on his way out of New York. From the reports I was seeing over the last couple days, Thibs never wanted Cam Reddish and the Knicks front office traded for him anyway. This seems like classic Thibs and the trade being made despite him being against it and the subsequent being glued to the bench is intentionally sending a message to management and I’d expect the Knicks to have a new coach by the start of next season or a new President and GM because this is only gonna get worse between the two sides as it always does with Tom

2021-22 NBA Trade Deadline
Only long after he’s gone so they can say how much better he made the franchise as winners, completely glossing over the fact that they’re so bad after he leaves because the teams completely destroy their futures to please him and his legions of fans

As a Cavs fan who had seen this happen first hand, twice, I still don’t think it’s appreciated. I think this happens with other superstars but not many others have the kind of gravity that means front offices just put everything into winning instantly.
I see this is old news and you’ve already been in this with OJ. My bad. But I will say that LeBron leaving is nothing to do with the current Cavs. This has been brilliant front office management and drafting and trading intelligently, along with being a dumpster fire, and LeBron doesn’t get any credit for putting us in a good circumstance.

Thibs vs the front office
They’re not gonna trade Cam. And Thibs is not going to play him until they get rid of Kemba and some other players.
I’m at the point where I believe Thibs is trying to get fired.Comment

Re: 2021-22 NBA Trade Deadline
Yup! Which is why I argued from the beginning of not wanting him on my squad and was in favor of keeping our young guys we drafted. Trading future picks away knowing what happens to franchises after he jumps ship and having to deal with the LeBron only crew outside of Os joining the bandwagon.
Can’t argue with the results though even if most just call it a Disney ring/bubble championship.
Leave it to most of the fan base the allure of playing for the Lakers will help us poach the next teams superstar as if any was lining up to join the team before the “King saved us” while also destroying us in the near future.Horseshoes & HollyWoodComment

2021-22 NBA Trade Deadline
Our post KD/Kyrie future is still 5 years out, lol. Their post-Lebron future can be whenever he says he’s done or when his contract is up.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2021-22 NBA Trade Deadline
But for real, Cam is still a project and Thibs knows that. Thibs likes guys who play hard on defense and play inside their role on offense. Reddish does neither, yet.
