    I feel you.

I just feel like it’s more how we THINK they SHOULD play as opposed to how they’ve ACTUALLY played and looked. The Lebron Factor is heavy but other than that, they need a lot of **** to go right(in comparison to the other Top 4-5 teams)for them to have a legit shot at getting to where they should be at.

Out of all the main complaints I’ve heard/read about the Lakers, it’s been:

-Vogel isn’t that good of a coach anymore and his rotations suck(every fan says this about every coach so I don’t put any stock into it)
-AD is always hurt and when he’s on the court, he wants to be Point Guard AD and not Big Man AD
    -Russ playing bad

Now obviously we know that if Lebron is healthy and playing like his playoff self, they’ll have a shot but ask yourself out of those 3 I mentioned, which of those is more likely to happen? I’d put my money on 2 and 3 and if that’s the case, they’ll be first round and done for the 2nd year in a row

Of course if everything is equal, they’ll have as a good a shot as anyone…but this is Sports and we all know that all things are never equal. But if I’m Phoenix or Golden State specifically, outside of Lebron having one of his god mode-esq games, which he always has BTW, those 2 shouldn’t be concerned about them.

Talent alone doesn’t always(heavy emphasis on this word) win otherwise BK would’ve gotten farther than the 2nd round and the Suns wouldn’t have been in the Finals. Which ironically enough, a lot of people thought the Lakers would get their **** together, ride that momentum from the play in win over Golden State and take care of Phoenix on their way to the Finals until the opposite happened and surprised most people. And why? Because we all thought LA was the more talented team, they had Lebron and there was no way a Lebron led team could lose in the first round. And next thing you know, it was the other LA team playing for that Finals spot, lol.

If this was any other year, I’d be all in on “Lebron God Mode is enough for them to move thru the playoffs. But I’m 2021-22, that argument don’t hold the same amount of weight like it used to and we have evidence to support that.

OJ bout to nuke my post with an essay, I’m waiting on it haha
Is this not what I was saying in my post? If healthy they have the talent be able to actually do something if they can actually put it altogether. But that’s a best case scenario option for them because they’ve shown us to this point that they are incapable of

    A) getting and staying healthy &

    B) when they are healthy showing that they would be able to get past their flaws to beat Phoenix or GS who would be the ones they’d face as a 7 or 8 seed.

    Am I missing something here?

I don't disagree with any of that.

But in the context of this hypothetical trade, do I think LeBron and AD (if healthy) can upset a higher team in the 1st round? Yes, and I wouldn't be terribly surprised by it. But I wouldn't expect them to continue much further into the playoffs because of the already mentioned flaws with the roster. Asking LeBron to have enough in the tank and AD to stay healthy for one 7 game series is one thing, but multiple series all the way to the finals? Asking too much.

But I don't think the team that would result from a Bullls trade would have the same odds to escape the 1st round.

Nah, I just need to take an L on this one. I used too strong of language to make a point when I said this is a team I would want no part of in the playoffs if they're healthy
Its more like I like their chances at an upset as an 7th or 8th seed. So just a wee bit of overstating the case

You’re basically saying the same thing as me. You just focused/got caught up on that one word instead of my overall point.

Take away the word “fear” and swap it out with not concerned/least worried and the point still remains.

          Semantics was basically the issue.

That’s probably where I went off track because I wasn’t even considering that trade, just looking at their current roster/play.

          My bad.

Lakers could’ve had DeMar in FA but balked.

Now it’s give up Mr. Glass for a guy who is balling out. Kick rocks.

Lakers and Knicks rumors are the absolute worst.

The trade itself is weird anyways because if you could guarantee a healthy AD the Bulls do that in a heartbeat but no shot the Lakers would want that trade. With his health being such a concern no shot Chicago would trade for him anyways. Just doesn’t make sense in any direction.
