He’s been unreal man. Reminds me of that season where he came back after playing with team USA and felt like he was flirting with 40 every night for the first few weeks of the season.

I know the Bulls aren’t going to have the best defense in the league and play in the worst division of basically all time, and therefor won’t win 60+ games. But I would take DeMar right now this season over Rose when he was MVP. He’s been that good IMO and his ability to get off and hit shots late when they need them is something they haven’t consistently had since MJ. Not saying guys like Rose, Jimmy, couldn’t hit those shots at times, but it wasn’t in their bag to be able to do it over and over and over like him.

If he was any better as a defender/rebounder/passer (or all 3) he’d be right there with the tier 1 guys for how well he’s played this year. It’s tough to even enter the conversation for MVP with how well Joker, Embiid, Giannis have been, but given the missed games and team struggles I’d probably give him the nod over KD and Bron right now, probably Steph too after he fell back to earth and I just expected GS to be a top 3 team before the year started anyways.

Hopefully he’s able to keep it going for the rest of the year too. And hopefully come playoff time. Right now, fair or unfair, he just has that reputation of not being able to maintain this once the playoffs start. Hopefully he can turn that around this year. I don’t think he’s been nearly as bad as some people claim, some of those years they just ran into LeBron and though I still think Toronto had the better team in 2018 and “choked” that probably wasn’t the case the seasons before.

He wasn’t posting nearly the numbers he is now, but he polished his game so well in San Antonio, his production this year isn’t surprising at all.

I think the key here is that he's doing it while LaVine is doing it too. So he's not hogging so much usage that they aren't maximizing the two of them. Both playing at an All-NBA level.
