Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
I wouldn't mind seeing a future Saturday night where they have a wnba team and g league one in there too.
A 3 woman wnba team for the skills comp and a 3 man team for the g league, then the 2 other teams can be the local team and an all star team.
3pt contest, have 1 wnba representative and 1 g league representativeComment

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
I miss the all star games of yesterday where we had things like "the Laker boy gonna try to take everyone one-on-one."
The reason we watch is to see stars go head to head. I don't want to see teams exchange wide open 3s with the occasional lob and no defense. I want to watch mini one on one battles between the best basketball players in the world.
I don't think there's a solution because its a mindset more than rules or anything like that.
Co-sign...give me All-Star games like the one from 1993, when the West won in OT, 135-132. That was entertaining. Yesterday's mess was ridiculous. I was done midway through the 2nd quarter.Comment

First ASG I've missed in years. And it's gonna stay that way. The **** is an embarrassment.Comment

I bet Manfred and old commissioner Selig is chomping at the bit for the NBA to announce a "This time it counts" theme, which will inevitably fail.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

The only reason I didn't like it for MLB is they still "cared" regardless, but we just couldn't have a tie is all.
The 2008 MLB ASG in Yankee Stadium is still the best one, playing 15 innings and nearly five hours. The amount of effort poured onto it made it the ultimate entertainment.
I haven't watched the NFL flag football Pro Bowl attempt yet and don't know if it was any better or worse, but at least they're trying to make players want to play.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

The highlight plays are still fun, but watching 2 and half hours of open gym style ball ain't it.

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
These ninjas won't even participate in the dunk contest ONLY against OTHER NBA PLAYERS, cause they're scared of losing or ending up on a meme, but you think they'd sign on for a full G-League AND WNBA team to have representation in the skills competition AND the 3 point? Come on now Maj, that ain't happening.
Idk that I buy that they are scared, I think it’s more so they just don’t care. Most of the dudes people want in the contest for the sake of having “stars” likely aren’t even the best dunkers. All these dudes have been playing, losing, etc with each other since they were like 10 at this point. I don’t think losing to one of their peers really bothers them like that, and every one of them knows that any random “professional” social media dunker is better than all of them and there isn’t anything “new” for them to showcase anymore.
I think it was Ja who said he would jump in for a mil.. I’m sure most dudes feel that way. As it currently stands there is no reason to join, nothing to prove, they don’t need the exposure.. I just don’t think they give a ****. I don’t believe any of these dudes are scared or care that their dunk might get a 47 and someone else’s a 49… I’d wager “scared” as a reason at like 1%.
At best you win and your prize is “congratulations on wining this contest that everyone ****s on anyways” and at worst you’re a marquee guy and you get hurt doing some pointless contest.. there is just almost no incentive.. would be different if it was 1988 and a basic windmill with force could still get you 50 points. These dudes have to push the boundaries of spinning, props, over people/things, awkward catches/landings, etc.. what’s the point for them at this stage?Comment
