Eventually we will see the first female head coach, but I wish we could skip past the breathless "it's historical, groundbreaking" articles and takes, and go straight to her being just another coach, same as the rest. The should be the goal, I'm assuming.Comment

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
Nope. We have to treat the first female head coach with superiority, not equality. Otherwise, we are wrong and/or misguided.PSN ID - A_Dubya13Comment

Love Ishbia, new owner of the suns. He's breaking with Ballys and making games free for AZ residents and will have a free streaming service for fans outside of AZ, so no more blackouts. Hopefully international fans get to access the streaming service

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
Little ranting, not that anybody cares lol.
Random pet peeve, and I mean this with no disrespect at all to Curry because it's not a Curry problem, it's a media/fan problem. The overreaction, caught in the moment, type of takes that pop up any time this guy plays a great game (same for Kawhi) literally ruin a massive chunk of the enjoyment I have watching them.
The outpour from all outlets yesterday as the result of his game was absolutely ridiculous. And he played his *** off, don't think I'm saying he didn't. Might have been his best playoff game of his career. But the over exaggeration of what having a great game has to mean for his career, and who he passes, and all that, it's just nauseating.
Like I can't recall a game from Jordan, Bron, Shaq, whoever where they had this one great game and everyone just piled it on (to that degree) the next day listening/watching/reading all the stuff from yesterday. Especially not in the first round, against a team they were favored to beat.
IDK why there is this almost double-standard (for lack of a better term) where somebody will make statements like "Steph is a top 10 player ever", "Steph is the best PG ever" but then act completely mind-blown when he plays like an All-Time great. Like it's expected, no? And if it's not expected then maybe you're overrating him to begin with? Like the whole big picture of it all just doesn't compute. I feel like, and maybe it's because he's a little guy who's game is all skill-based, but the standard for him is always set so much lower than just about any player who's in the ballpark of where those same people holding him to lower standards try to place him.
I mean we just watched Giannis seal a championship in the finals to take home finals MVP with a 50/14/ 5 block, 64% shooting on 90% from the line game just two years ago. In terms of "Game Score" it's the 2nd greatest game in finals history. That game didn't get half the response Steph got yesterday. It makes no sense.
Also, random pet peeve number 2. The "rings" talk is just killing the way we view players. The number of "what would another ring mean for LeBron", "what would another ring mean for Steph" that was on my timeline yesterday was ridiculous. "Where will LeBron/Steph rank if they win another", like does it not matter how they actually play? Regardless of another ring don't we need to see them actually play it out and produce at a certain level? There is a reason we don't compare someone like Horry to MJ, what you provide in winning actually ****ing matters lol. Like we've already seen these guys get over the top, they don't need to prove they are winners at this point, that part isn't missing for them. Simply seeing them win another regardless of how much impact they provide to get it done shouldn't alter anybody's opinion/ranking of them. And requiring their team to win regardless of what they do individually shouldn't hold them back either. I don't understand how we let the whole "rings" thing get to this point, it's awful.Comment

Not that Memphis is a team that can afford to go deep into the luxury tax, but they also could have crossed that bridge once they got there too.Comment

This could be a huge upcoming season for Taylor Jenkins and Zaire Williams. Jenkins's seat is gonna start getting hot, while Williams has a good shot of being the opening night starting SF.
Not sure why he fell out of the rotation after having a good rookie season.

Aside from that, Roddy and LaRavia were also pretty solid as rookies this year. Both are more of a 3/4 than a true wing player, but both of them use their size well on defense. Roddy ended up playing in 70 games, and all 6 playoff games.
And then they added Kennard.Comment

Who didn't see this coming? Hopefully, he'll be a lot more humble and realize all his antics are nothing more than a distraction.
