Seems like he has a certain demo of sports fan on lock who think he's worthwhile, along with The Ringer. A cult following he has had for years. Somehow a lot of these sports media personalities last forever doing the exact same thing with the same people listening over and over lol.

The Book of Basketball is one of my favorites basketball books of all-time. Also, The Rewatchables is a go-to podcast when I’ve got time to burn.

As for day-to-day sports talk? Not my bag, but I assume some folks just need their sports talk fix day in and at out and Ringer fills that void. Guess it’s all relative, because there’s certainly worse options out there.

Nick Gilbert (Cavs owner Dan Gilberts son who people may remember as the "good luck charn" during Cavs draft lotteries) has died at the age of 26.

Their sports pods are probably the part I listen to the least at this point honestly. I enjoy a lot of their pop culture related stuff. I'll listen to the occasional Simmons/Russilo podcast depending on the topics that they're talking about but otherwise I pretty much stay away from their sports podcasts.

I still listen to Bill because he's fun and it's light hearted sports talk. I can jump into the Dunker's Spot or something like that if I want to take it more seriously (which I rarely do anymore). Rewatchables is great when it's the right guys and/or movie. Russilo is good too. The rest of their sports staff is pretty whatever. KOC is their big NBA guy and he sucks. Even if they just upgraded him somehow they'd upgrade everyone else by association.

As far as Bill being clued in, he does drop little nuggets here and there that hit, but they're usually on the business side of things. But again I'm not in it for Bill to drop some real knowledge. It's a casual podcast for casual fans.

Surprised the McDaniels didn't make the All Defensive team. Giannis pissed he didn't make it.

I don't understand why we don't have a defensive 3rd-team at this point.

The NBA should've implemented that some time ago. It's BS that Giannis didn't make the team while Draymond did.

Draymond is heading into Kobe territory where he'll make the All-defensive team based on past reputation. [emoji2365]

I think it's insane that Lillard and James made a team

I agree. Lillard got it just because he was 3rd in scoring, but his team was bad. I thought there was a minimum games played for current All NBA voting. LeBron only played 55 games, he got it because of the "that's LeBron" factor.

That's the one reason why I'm okay with the 65 game minimum(barring special circumstances) for major awards starting next year. It gives a clear guideline that will exclude players for missing too many games. Even if it's someone like Giannis this year who only had 63 games, if he was excluded from the ballet because he didn't meet the minimum game requirements, I would be okay with that because it was the rule.

Only thing this year is that a lot of guys missed a lot of time. Based on that 65 game minimum, 5 of these All-NBA guys wouldn't have made the cut. Heck, out of the top 20 PPG scorers, only 4 of them played 70+ games and only 1 in the top 10. So hopefully next year, we see less injuries

Steph played one more game than Bron, if he can make the 2nd team I don’t really see a big issue with Bron on 3.

Durant missed out, but only 47 games played.
