Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
And I understand him wanting to get back to just basketball, but unfortunately reality/the "real world" (and Kyrie) get in the way.

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
To be fair there aren’t any white players getting asked to do press conferences either [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23].
I think Myers prevented a lot of the after discussions by immediately making a statement apologizing, also just not as polarizing as Kyrie in general and nobody cares if he’s gone. Kyrie kinda made his whole situation worse than just sharing the link with his comments after the fact. It’s like people told him he ****ed up and instead of trying to remedy it he pulled a “hold my beer”.
Pretty much ended Myers career though. I hadn’t really thought about that until you bringing him up.Comment

Clarifying yourself or trying to explain that the way your messaged was received wasn’t as you intended doesn’t matter anymore Pack.. everybody just gets to assume the worst.Comment

No I mean I actually agree with you, I don’t think it’s the other players positing to answer for Kyrie. Black, white, or from wherever. I was more so making a joke like what white player are they gonna ask because nobody would care.
Like KD is being asked because he’s KD. He’s a high profile guy, his teammate. I could be dead wrong but I believe if he just so happened to be white but the same player they would probably still be asking him because of his stature. Nobody cares what Joe Harris has to say basically is what I mean. If this were Bron the media is going to talk to AD, Russ, because it’s AD and Russ. Nobody cares what Matt Ryan has to say. If it was Bron in Cleveland they probably would be asking K-Love.Last edited by ojandpizza; 11-04-2022, 09:49 PM.Comment

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
You ever paid attention to how many people were still rocking his Shoes/Slides even after his “Slavery was a choice” comments(If we’re being real, people should’ve been got him TF outta here)?
Once he survived that, I knew we were ****ed as a society, morally.#RespectTheCultureComment

If you read any of the comments of the videos shared of Shaq and Chuck’s comments you know they’ll do numbers. The number of people in those comments defending Kyrie, Kanye, and calling Shaq and Chuck sell-outs was wild. I’m talking thousands.Comment

That's not a clarification. Nobody is saying he agrees with whatever the hell Kyrie was promoting or that he was saying anything antisemitic or anything like that. He said he wished they kept quiet as an organization and just kept playing basketball. He didn't want the organization to address it publicly and kept things in house dealing with Kyrie. That's a ridiculous statement on his part because there's no way the Nets couldn't address this publicly. They couldn't just "no comment" this and deal with it internally.
But I don’t disagree with this. My issue with this when it started was that you had the Owner grandstanding on Twitter(like he did with the Steve Nash thing only to follow thru on what you said you wouldn’t do)before actually doing anything or even speaking to the player himself. That’s some mess Trump used to do when he was on Twitter where he would fire people on Twitter.

Asking them about it is fine because that’s their job. Just don’t throw a fit when they don’t answer how you want them to answer.
Anyway, this is going anywhere no time soon so if people are tired of hearing/talking about this, you better get comfortable.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 11-04-2022, 09:58 PM.#RespectTheCultureComment
